So have you decided if Rafa actually has any of this money the Americans promised you? I've seen a lot of paper talk about "big" players coming in and last time that happened you got Crouch |
I think a lot of the "drunken sailor" talk is probably to stop people putting up their prices as soon as we get involved so I think the money is genuinely there.
However, the fact we have some money doesn't negate the fact that we are hopeless when it comes to spending it. </BLOCKQUOTE>
It was just after the CL final Rafa came out saying big players, big spend and soon. Now he's had meetings with the board, there was talk of him being unhappy and it's all gone a bit quiet.
Maybe you'll unveil signings out of the blue like United did with Nani and Anderson? </BLOCKQUOTE>
Possibly. I think the overal problem is that we reek of desperation in the transfer market and the men who negioate our transfers (Parry and pals) are stil labouring under the delusion that Liverpool is the club that every player in the world wants to play for. In the modern game, I don't think any club can make that statement.
All this leads to us either being priced out by the club or insulting the players with unrealistic contracts.
