my little ebay buddy didn't turn up and touts were charging £80!! so i had to slip a bouncer a little bribe to let me in  got interviewed by mtv2 twice too once before the show, moaning that i couldn't get in, and the hype had meant that a load of chavs had taken the tickets, and one in the gig, saying how i'd bunked in so look out for me.
the test icicles were great too really good, they got booed though because the scallies and supermodel girls had came to see the monkeys only which just plain sucked. the crowd at monkeys gigs is officially sh*t now.
alex was clearly f*cked on pills during the show too absolutely wasted, but his performance was quality, played another new song which was cool.
got my pic taken with the zane too, i can't see why he gets so muich stick, he's probably the nicest man i've ever met, had so much time for everyone, he bought me a drink too
Went into town today to get tickets for Jack Johnson at the academy. JJ's alright but I probably wouldn't normally bother to go see him, it's just that my mates here at Uni won't see the live acts I want to see , and I'm not too keen to go by myself , so when they decided to go to JJ I thought I may as well go too.
Anyways, turns out his gig got changed from the Academy to the NEC arena :o, which imo is going to make it **** :thdn:
I may have a couple of spare (standing) tickets going if anyone's interested? Jack Johnson, March 1st, Birmingham NEC Arena.
Saw the Subways last night in Edinburgh. They were playing Glasgow and I didn't have the cash to go across but they announced at the gig they were then playing a short set at Gig (used to be Rev, well weird being in there again). They were really good, glad I got to see them in the end
Went to see EDead Men Walking in Aldershot wednesday, for those who dont know the Dead Men are Mike Peters (The Alarm), Kirk Brandon (Spear Of Destiny), Slim Jim Phantom (The Stray Cats) and Captain Sensible who has replaced Pete Wylie (The Mighty Wah) this year.
Top show if a bit short, started bang on time which was disconcerting and were done just before 10 but still excellent.
Did all of each others hits and even had time to drink tea on stage \0/
Told stories between songs too which was a good touch, especially the one the Captain told about a night in Middlesboro when the crowd were evil (Damned Concert...what did he expect!!) and were baying for him to do something 'punkish'. So he puked in a pint glass which they really liked...so he drank it again...which they really liked!!!
ladytron simply so good last night, older songs simply teh awesome with like all the drums and bass and stuff, ladytron girls so hot, ladytron fan girls so hot, and so obviously going to be a dvd live thing of it what with like at least 4 or 5 cameras pointing at them from all angles. only bad things were people repeatedly feeling the need to try and barge past me and then stepping on my feet and my mate deciding she'd keep me up by snoring all night. but all in all good, 13/10
In the past month I'v seen Art Brut, The Go! Team, Brakes, The Fall and 65Daysofstatic. Best were probably the Go! Team, they were great fun (as were Art Brut), but seeing the Fall was quite an experience too. The Glasgow crowd was absolutely mental, people kept jumping on stage, dancing about and fiddling about with the equipment (and band!). MES slapping hands away from the keyboard was hilarious as were the ancient security gaurds trying to cope with the crowd Really awesome gig though, the band seemed to enjoy the crowd's energy and were on top form.
Anyway I just booked tickets to see Mogwai next month, very excited since they're one of my favourite bands ever and I know how wonderful they are live. Kind of makes up for Sleater-Kinney cancelling their November tour I've also got Polysics, Sigur Ros, Melt Bananna, The Decemberists and Help She Can't Swim coming up with the possibility of a few others. November is going to rock

Oh and how could I forget, The White Stripes too. Hopefully this time no-one will hit Jack White in the face with a shoe, unlike last time they played in Glasgow!
Went to Dirty Pretty Things last night only to find that they weren't actually playing merely doing a dj set The geezer from that Big brother chat show was there and kept going on about how you can't rush these things but a bit of a pain anyway.
Still, Supergrass played and were absolutely quality, as did a few other bands, Son of Dave was an old bloke beatboxing and playing the harmonica and was brilliant! Then Supergrass who were really really good, then a female fronted group called Fay Raise i think who were nothing special but the vocalist was well fit and finally M.A.S.S finished up. The lead singer was a crazy crazy woman who was clad in French Revolution style get-up and the rest of the band were wearing old school football shirts! Not a bad performance mind you lot of energy and stage presence.
The best bit of the night however must have been getting a paper plate signed by Supergrass and then meeting Carl Barat who duly signed said plate as well! We also managed to get half a bottle of JD off him as he was pretty ruined! Good night but i really really wish Dirty Pretty Things had performed! Ah well always next time
