| Funny you should compare to Bloc Party. My mates last band which consisted of them two+bassis+theramin player. Supported The Rakes, Art Brut and dj'ed for Bloc Party and know them quite well. Though my mate can't stand that kind of music he is more 'metal' based, he is also in another band.
When the supported The Rakes, a couple of Bloc Party guys were in the audience. The new band were asked to support Art Brut again by Chris Chinchilla after their first gig, but they turned it down as the organisers wanted them to bring 50 people. Chris has since left Art Brut anyway.

That's quality! Not an Art Brut fan at all mind you not sure where the appeal lies but you're mates drumming was really good in a frantic sort of way really reminded me of the Bloc Party fella, Matt is it?

Spock's are back in style, Dream Theater's Mike Portnoy joined them for a song, was the last night of their tour so they did loads of old classics for 3 hours plus.
DT will have to go some way to beat this next week, won't be as interactive as last night.

I might go and see Reuben again on Thursday. I've had to take Friday off to wait in for workmen. So might take the opputunity to have a few drinks Thurday night.
Though not sure if i'll be able to get any mates to go at short notice, a couple have band rehersal and another was busy which is why I wasn't going originallly. But might go on my own.

Just booked tickets for four tet explosions in sky @ the sage in gateshead nov 3rd, then following night jamiel liddel @ sage, followed by a bomb down a1 to leeds for erol alkan. cant bl00dy wait.
Went to a class gig last week, headman, vitalic and soulwax/2many dj's. at newcastle uni. Vitalic was out of this world, and 2 many djs were as brilliant as ever.
week before was bloc party - also good, and rakes, which was ok.
Going to see annie mac on friday for a bit of electro clash, cant wait. Also dexter from avalanches is dj, so that should be an expirience
