So I was going to go and see Reuben on Tuesday, but having casually spoken to the Oxford Student music editor at some freshers drinks the other night, they're going to pay for my ticket and let me interview them. How fun!
Seeing Spock's Beard tomoroow, it will be incredible but since their main man left to persue a Christian solo career they've dropped slightly out of my favour.
However his new solo CD is out soon so I'll look forward to that (premiered later today free on t'internet).
First was my mates band who opened up at the Bull and Gate. Good show though they only had about 2 minutes to sound check as the 2nd band on turned up two hours late. About 60 people turned up, not bad considering they were first on and the Northern Line was playing up.
Immediately after they finished I got a cab to the Barfly to see Nine Black Alps.
I missed the first support, but saw 'Be Your Own Pet', they were alright. Nothing special.
Zane Lowe came on stage to introduce NBA as it was recorded for MTV2. He is a bit of a twat.
Great show from NBA, though I preferred they show at the 100 club a few months ago as I managed to get right to the front there. Not here as the place was heaving, though to see NBA at the Barfly is cool.
To be honest the Barfly venue is probably smaller than the venue I saw my mates play.
