Was impressed by the support band "Gay for Johnny Depp" and yes they were rather camp in a way. They were great though, my mate described them as "Everytime I Die meets the Blood Brothers". Based on it I bought their EP and a limited edition tour 2 track CD. Will have to listen on CD to appreciate properly.

A weird part was when the bassist, stopped got our his MP3 player and played "Joe le Taxi" by Vanessa Paradis down they mic. Very odd. But a great band.

I bumped into Jamie from Reuben in the toilets as I came the Urinal he swapped places. I pathetically said "Love the new album" to which he said "cheers", quite cringworthy thinking back.
Haha, they did the Joe Le Taxi thing at Birmingham as well.

Jamie from Reuben is apparently really nice. You should have cornered him or something.

definitely try and see them, you should enjoy it if only because the live show is fantastic. listen on their site (http://www.mistysbigadventure.co.uk/flash.html) just in case you find the music totally repulsive but i've never spoken to anyone who's disliked it

I was also standing behind Frank Turner when "Gay For Johnny Depp" were playing.

I just can't say no to gigs lately.

Latest list.

Tomorrow (maybe) Gay For Johnny Depp + Trencher only £4 so can't be bad. But im knackered and mum needs me for support at the moment. (see aunts cancer thread). So not sure.
Monday - Wives
15th October - Brendan Benson
16th October Gig 1 - Mates band Nosferatu D2 (supporting Lapsus Linguae at the Bull and Gate)
16th October Gig 2 - Nine Black Alps (10 minutes away from mates gig)
20th October - Reuben
28th October - The Locust (5 of us going now)
1st December - The Bled.

Went to see Stiff Little Fingers in Farnham last night

Jake Burns was in sensational form, did mainly old stuff which was what everybody wanted.

Set was over an hour and a half with two fabulous encores , second of which was Alternative Ulster which literally blew the roof off. Bruce Foxton was stunning as well.

Top class stuff and I thoroughly recommend the rest of the tour to aging rockers who remember the Fingers and to you young whipper-snappers who have never heard of them.

There's quite a few dates all over the place, go...enjoyment guaranteed

Saw the band Wives tonight. I was bitterly disappointed

The album is fantastic, but live they sucked quite badly. Could have been largely due to the sound, couldn't hear the vocalist whatsoever, though the vocals are clear on the album. I do have a pretty well trained musical ear for picking things out, but this just seemed a complete mess. Couldn't really reconginise much from the album. Terrible sound, so maybe not there fault.

Good support band mind, called Optimist Club. I'll have to find out more about them.

Was hopng to see Reuben next month, but the mate I went to the gig with today was the last person I asked who I thought would be intested. He loves Reuben but is really busy around then so can't make it Damn. Might have to go to Reuben on my own, maybe.
