Moreclaw, you buy Train of Thought yet?

No, I was in MVC the other day browsing and thought of your reccomendation. I thought you said Train Of Thought but opted for Octavarium instead (also because it was cheaper). And yeah, I liked that quite a bit (especially These Walls and I Walk Beside You), so may very well move onto Train Of Thought when I next go and buy some stuff (monday). </BLOCKQUOTE>
Yeah Octavarium is damn good but since every DT album has a slightly different sound I think TOT would suit your tastes (Metallica but with keyboards, more virtuoso playing and generally better stuff as good as Metallica are)
Octavarium is more of a Muse-style album with a few commercial (read: sh!t) ballads. The first track 'Root of all evil' is actually the last of a series of 7 cool metally tracks about Mike Portnoy (the drummer, and my god)'s alcoholism.
The title track is really a nod to old style prog, but everything from the full circle section onwards is pure awesomeness, the crazy instrumental bit between full circle and the next bit is just classic DT.
So, yeah, you'll love TOT.
