Last night I saw Nine Black Alps.

The opening band were the worst band I have ever ever seen live. Truly terrible, a complete shambles went down like a lead balloon and the singer woman stormed of stage in a strop. Only thing is I think they thought they were good, as the rest of the band were strutting around the venue thinking they were cool with a real attitude. Their name was terrible 'New Graffiti'. Quite adapt, New Graffiti shouldn't be there and is generally a mess and completely pointless.

The bassist was a complete twat, dressed up as a scarecrow, if that was intentional I have no idea.

The woman singer/guitarist, awful vocal and guitar, most novices can play better than her.

The bloke singer/guitar just as bad, and yes its so cool to take your 60's style Beatles jacket off and put it on back to front isn't it? NOT!!!, well it would be if you have proceed to tie your arms behind your back to stop you playing guitar.

There was one song when the two guitarists put there guitars down (HORRAH) for a song just with the bassist and drummer, but then the pathetic woman singer started some acapella shouty thing.

Normally I give a band at least 1 out of 10 for trying, but no 0, infact I might even consider giving them a minus number, awful, shambles, pretentious art students, just give up now! Please. RANT OVER.

The next bands on were called Snow White. I liked these to start with though as their set went on there didn't appear to be much variety, so it soon got boring. But a lot of promise. Reminded me greatly of Sonic Youth, with Biffy Clyro-esqe parts as well. Could be good. They are playing a local pub near me soon so might check them out again (maybe) 6/10.

Nine Black Alps, were amazing live. Very tight, great stage presence and just ruled. I started of near the back to start with but as it went on I moved right near the front and thoroughly enjoyed there set. The 'scarecrow' AKA the bassist from the fist band, annoyed me greatly pirouetting and crashing into people (mainly me) and totally making and arse of himself. So I moved further forward to get a way from him.

NBA played all their album plus a few others, nothing bad at all to say about them.

I took some great photos of Nine Black Alps, which I will post up at some point.

Overall rating for Nine Black Alps? 9/10
I urge you to buy the Nine Black Alps CD, its fantastic.

I saw Neils Children on Monday night. Wasn't very impressed, especially having read a lot of good things about them. The singer spent too much time trying to act like Pete Doherty to sing properly. :thdn:

Might go and see Ezio at Shepherds Bush on Saturday

well i know you liked her, just seemed like an odd choice given the style of the main act? possibly something to do with it being some special goldsmiths uni thing though, coxon went there, maybe she did too?

and stargreen are basically still selling tickets, but if anyone is interested you can get them like £6 off by being a student and ringing up the goldsmiths union, simply look [url"http://www.gcsu.org.uk/system/systempages/file/233/image/postercoxon.jpeg"]here[/url] for more information. and tell them nick sent you, i want a cut after this bit of gig whoring i've done for them

i think if lady sovereign went to uni she'd have to be a child prodigy because she's only 18 or something as it is
