Point is our entire board has resigned and the alledged leading contender got talking to us by chance and hasn't even put in a bid yet.

Would love to hear who all these people are who are apparently talking to us as well.

We'll see. Gio has basically spouted guff up until now though. According to his timescale we are now a very short time-frame away from administration, we now have no board, and no leading contender to invest in us.

And who the heck were all the insiders claiming it was going to be a done deal Wednesday?

Just a feckin' shambles really. Quite annoyed as the club is a laughing stock currently.

Gio just wants rid as soon as and the "look we've got loads of offers coming in" was supposed to gee up any potential investors.
What has happened (imo) that those who were a bit interested thought "OK then, best leave it alone...".

God know we need some good news after the weekend...still lots of chatter about that the takeover by Briatore is a 'done deal' and they are just waiting to announce it.

Latests rumours:

Paladini in the clubshop yesterday said to be getting a shirt with Briatore's name plus todays date on the front.

Also word that Bernie Eccelstone IS part of the group looking to takeover the club, even though he has released a press report saying he was more interested in Arsenal.

Saturday looks to be a very emotional day...all players will have Ray Jones on the back of their shirts instead of their own names. Wish I could go but cant make it. :thdn:

Am in Brighton until early Saturday but trying to work out if I can make it to the game logistics wise. Would like to be there.

Apparently we are retiring the 31 squad number as well.

Not even thinking about the takeover. So much rubbish spouted about it that it actually annoys me currently. Will just see what happens. Important thing is to give Ray a good send off on Saturday I guess.

Looking forward to Saturday.
Should be a day of mixed emotions and hopefully a full house to boot.

Let's get the place jumping and put a hatful past the Saints.

Herms, drop me a line on Gmail if you're going to be there as I will meet you for a pint beforehand.

Everyone having Jones on their shirts is a nice touch, I’ll expect to see a real hearts on sleeves performance from the lads too!

Haven’t really been keeping up with the takeover gossip as still shocked about Ray Jones. Saw that the Daily Snail had a piece today about Ecclestone still being involved with the Briatore bid, which is good news if true as he is seriously loaded.

Looks like the transfer window end is coming around too quickly for us though, can’t see us getting in anyone else now. Hopefully Wild Thing is getting back to fitness as he gives us another option, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Ephraim recalled now that Dyer and Fubert are both long term injuries for West Ham.
