Right, want to get back playing this but want to play from the 01/02 season, not the 07 season. So I'll be just looking for a good patch then, what's recommended?

The official patch still the best and needed to run all the other stuff anyway. Link on the site in the first post.
You can also just do the data update without changing the start date. Fair few options with these guys really.

No, Tapani is what changes the start date, improves AI etc, This is the SI patch. | |

I haven't finished a season yet. I started playing last week and for the first few months (game months) i was missing the options in FM07 (such as pre-match talks, play down wings tactics etc).. but after a while it all came back to me, and what a brilliant addictive game this is.
and for the first time in years i was acting out press conferences in my head as i was about to go to sleep.
I'm west ham. Currently 7th in the league with a brilliant home record but a shocking away record. Tevez isn't very good in teh update i have, which is dissapointing but hey ho.
Only signed one player so far, Bale for £2.9m to replace a very average Konchesky. Got rid of teh deadwood such as Bowyer, Quasie, Cole and Daily. I'm left with a very small first team squad and any injury will really mess me up.
ohh and being able to sign players untill march :thup: :thup: ffb

Still haven't finished my first season 
i think i'm little to over-analytical with this.
8 games to go and somehow i've made it to 4th position. 1 point ahead of arsenal in 5th. hehe
