Dexter is quite simply the best show on TV at the moment. Season 2 is as good, if not better than season 1.
And Ep 8.....oh my. Staggering staggering ending.

And yeah, Doakes being framed as the BHB is definitely where they're going. But while that would exonerate Dexter I doubt it'd be enough to convict Doakes.
Let's take the obvious first;
Doakes broke into Dexter's place and took the blood, which basically will clear Dexter. As it was obtained illegally it's inadmissible, and with Doakes' history with Dexter it would seem possible to convince them that Doakes planted it. Doakes past and present history with the various shootings would further serve to increase the suspicion, as would the fact that his father was a butcher (Why else would they mention it really?).
But surely that wouldn't be enough to actually convict him of anything? Or well something perhaps, but not the actual murders. The evidence simply points to whoever was in possession of the blood had something to do with it. Or hell, unless there are fingerprints then it could even be argued that someone else hid them there couldn't it?
So yeah, to summarize; I see where they're going, but I'm not sure quite how they'll get there. Doakes dying, and the investigation with him, is the only thing I can think of right now. I also don't think that Dex would actually let Doakes go down for it, letting someone innocent (Because while he's an idiot, he's still not guilty of murder. Let alone 18 of them) die for his sake. Even what he did with the case last week in setting up Doakes was only brought on by his involvement with Lila, something he'll now distance himself from by the look of things.

The thing is, Lundy knows its Dexter. Remember the scene in the train carriage a few eps back? Lundy was profiling the BHB, and the camera showed Dexter and his obsessive neat and tidyness.
He knows. Thats the reason he sent (indirectly) Doakes to go chasing after Dexter. Bit of a **** up actually, not sure I understand the logic behind it at the minute.
Ep9.....Cannot wait.

BTW, did they ever expand on the situation between him and the LT. About busting into a room and something happening that elevated her?

He is too big of a character to 'kill off' or 'write off'. I hope the script writers have something special line-up. I think theres a lot to come from his character.

I think Doakes will just let Dexter carry on with it since he only kills people that deserve it.
Remember in series one when Doakes shot that guy that was from a Haitian death squad or something?

Thats a bloody great observation mate. What a twist that would be. And to help compensate the fact that he doesn't screw Dexter over - he can always use it to 'blackmail' him.
I like it.

Showtime very happy that the last episode of Dexter did record numbers, up 41% on the previous week, and was officially the most watched episode of a Showtime series, ever.

Wowzers
Should have killed him Dexter, no other way about it really. Unless he leaves him as a braindead vegetable then Doakes is a liability. Even if no-one believes him, he'll blab to all and everyone about Dexter, and the press at least would eat it up. A killer of such celebrity? Websites, news interviews, and a book deal before he even reaches trial imo.
Stuff with Debs and Lundie still so very wrong, (why is Lundie the one wandering around naked ffs?) although the look on Angel's face when he found out was classic, just screamed "wp son"
Maria is a confusing one, last year she was all over Dexter like an STD on Masuka, now it's Doakes. She's like a lovesick puppy.

No kidding. Last week I couldn't figure out how they would resolve the Doakes situation and now I really can't figure it out.
One question, if Doakes went to Haiti to use a lab, why did he leave the samples in his car at the airport?
