I'm really hoping it's not pinning it on Doakes, would hate to see season 3 without Doakes. Suspect you are right though as it was first thing that came to my mind too.
Masuka's bowling ball
Hopefully a nice bondage/torture scene for Lyla's death too

Awesome episode.
And yeah, Doakes being framed as the BHB is definitely where they're going. But while that would exonerate Dexter I doubt it'd be enough to convict Doakes.
Let's take the obvious first;
Doakes broke into Dexter's place and took the blood, which basically will clear Dexter. As it was obtained illegally it's inadmissible, and with Doakes' history with Dexter it would seem possible to convince them that Doakes planted it. Doakes past and present history with the various shootings would further serve to increase the suspicion, as would the fact that his father was a butcher (Why else would they mention it really?).
But surely that wouldn't be enough to actually convict him of anything? Or well something perhaps, but not the actual murders. The evidence simply points to whoever was in possession of the blood had something to do with it. Or hell, unless there are fingerprints then it could even be argued that someone else hid them there couldn't it?
So yeah, to summarize; I see where they're going, but I'm not sure quite how they'll get there. Doakes dying, and the investigation with him, is the only thing I can think of right now. I also don't think that Dex would actually let Doakes go down for it, letting someone innocent (Because while he's an idiot, he's still not guilty of murder. Let alone 18 of them) die for his sake. Even what he did with the case last week in setting up Doakes was only brought on by his involvement with Lila, something he'll now distance himself from by the look of things.

I'm also curious to see how they resolve the Doakes situation without killing him or greatly de-emphasizing his character by sending him to jail in a frame job. While I find his character annoying with his super aggro behavior, I also am strangely fascinated by figuring out what makes him tick.
BTW, did they ever expand on the situation between him and the LT. About busting into a room and something happening that elevated her?

| Heh, four shows would be easy going for me. At most I think I watched 15-20 shows per week. Although that was seasonal, when summer shows overlapped with fall etc. I've cut back a lot since though
Chuck and Pushing Daisies being two of the casualties. Chuck is fairly entertaining, but so utterly shallow. The jokes are cheap, the drama is cheap etc. Funny, but not exactly quality TV.
Only watched 1½ episodes of Pushing Daisies. And I'm not quite sure what to think of it. Basically I liked it, yet didn't feel compelled to watch any more of it. I suppose you'd just have to watch for yourself and see. If I had to describe it I'd call it a mix of "Big Fish" and "Perfume - The Story of a Murderer". Reminds me so much of those two.

| Chuck is light-hearted and funny. However, it's hard to recommend it because I can see people being put off by it's "cute" aspect.

Chuck and Pushing Daisies quite good really, especially since the former introduced the delicious Rachel Bilson as a love interest last week
Couldn't imagine watching only four shows, currently watching around 35 shows |

Christ where do you get all the time to watch all these shows ?
I manage 2 or 3 a week depending on schedules, plus the odd british show (top gear & Doctor Who/Torchwood/Robin Hood basically)
Heroes,Dexter & 24 only American shows i watch plus the wrestling twice a week.
Did watch Lost before Heroes but got bored halfway through season three and gave up on it, did also watch Drive for the 6 episodes or whatever before it was canned.

Being insomniac helps, and 35 is about the highest it gets, thanks to scheduling and such, drops way way down in the summer, although I usually spend that time catching up with anything I've missed
Working from home, on a PC all day helps too.
