Parreira is coaching South Africa while Luxemburgo has already rejected coaching Iran.
Luxemburgo is either going to stay at Santos for Copa Libertadores 2008, or move to some of the teams that want him like Flamengo (unlikely, as Joel Santana is probably going to stay at Mengão) or Atlético Mineiro (also unlikely, Luxão is too expensive for them).

Fabio Capello has expressed an interest in coaching the Soccerros. Where do I sign up? http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,...-23215,00.html |

Capello I'd take as his strength would fix our weakest area - defence.

The weakness in defence is more to do with quality of players rather than tactics, isn't it? Tactics can only go so far, IMO.
There's been a lot made of his limited English, but I don't think that's much of an issue - most of the players would have at least some experience playing in foreign countries, though the squad for the early games may be locally based.

| Yup, but if the quality isn't there we need someone who can compensate for it with tactical knowledge.
The language barrier is a major issue though.

Gianfranco Zola has also expressed an interest, apparently, and lives in Perth. Capello head coach/Zola assistant (and translator)?

FOOTBALL Federation Australia confirmed Dutchman Pim Verbeek as the new Socceroos coach through to the end of the 2010 World Cup campaign.

Hmm, not so sure about this appointment. South Korea really didn't live up to expectations at the Asian Cup and his coaching pedigree is okay. Philippe Troussier was the other candidate - I would have liked to have seen him appointed.
Best of luck to Pim, though. He'll need it.

Ouch... was hoping with someone with significant managerial pedigree and history.
Ah well. He's got the quality in the squad. He just needs to utilize it.
