I'm thinking of investing in some quality players for the side (not youth) - but I've only recently started. Is it worth it? Am I supposed to be doing so badly?
Just had a quick look at your team and league. You dont look to be far behind the other teams in your league. You have a passable coach which is good, have you decided on a training type?
I'm doing stamina in the short term, because most of my players were at wretched and I was normally holding out for one half, then getting hammered in the second. I'll probably leave it at stamina for this week, then switch to playmaking.
What areas are the most important to strengthen? I have a 1330TSI, inadequate keeper I picked up for pennies.
It all sounds pretty solid so far, your heading in the right direction.
I would scour the transfer market for some suitable trainees. In the second half of the year theres a dip in prices as cash is short for most and players are closer to gaining another year in age during offseason. Get your hands on some 17 year old passables or even solids if your lucky.
Long term you are aiming for six trainees. Play best three in league and your others in friendlys. Then its a case of making sure they all get training each week and eventually selling them for a nice wad of cash after a season or two.
That depends on cash flow, again long term aim is 10 spokeperson and 10 assistant coaches. If you can hire that many and turn a profit while investing in youth team then go for it. For a new team maybe 4/5 of each will do.Perhaps hire an extra one or two spokespersons and see if they pay for themselves. Then add or sack as apporpriate.
