Don't support a team though, maybe I shall pick on before the season starts! I've picked Chicago Fire as my MLS team so I may go for the Chicago baseball team too, they're the Cubs right?
You have two Chicago options. The White Sox have had more recent success (they won the World Series two years ago) but the Cubs remain the more popular team both in Chicago and throughout the country, and have spent a lot of money building an improved team for this year.

The Cubs are from the North Side, the Sox from the South Side. This has led to the White Sox having more of a blue-collar image than the Cubs.

Wrigley Field (Cubs) and surroundings are cool. US Cellular Field (White Sox) and surroundings are not.

Cubs uniforms are better. Sox fans have something of a reputation for whining about lack of recognition.

In my incredibly biased opinion, the Cubs are a lot more fun to follow even when they suck, which they probably won't this year. Follow the Cubs.

will drop pavano for al leiter once the wheels completely fall off the yankees' staff again. </BLOCKQUOTE>

They may drop Pavano, but will not go for Leiter. His last stint with them showed he had absolutely nothing left. No, the desperation grab may well be Roger "AARP" Clemens.

Smoltz just dominating. Five strikeouts in three innings, only one hit allowed.

Some Cub-specific predictions: Mark Prior will be useless if and when he comes back up from AAA; Lee and Izturis will win Gold Gloves; two out of Lee, Ramirez, and Soriano will get 40 HRs; Zambrano will win the Cy Young; Rich Hill will actually be quite good.
Heh, my go, Prior will come up when it's clear that Miller is useless, but it's Guzman who will eventually establish himself in the rotation. Not sure on Gold Gloves, never really cared too much about them, I can see all three of those guys hitting 40 HR, Z for Cy Young would be ffb, Hill already was quite good in the second half of last year, I'm looking for 12-14 wins from him. Marquis to suck. Lilly to underwhelm.

Prior to come back, dominate 2 to 4 games. Then injury ends his season.
