Seattle just blowing away Texas right now, 14-5. The first three in their order are having absolutely monster days.
Ricky the bat boy is warming up in the Texas pen.

Does anyone know what Alyssa Milano did to this guy? Pavano's going back on the DL. /o\
Does this mean Philip Hughes is on his way? Nope. He doesn't look quite ready yet. He has a 6.30 ERA after two starts in AAA, and his peripherals aren't dominant (3.6 BB/9, 6.3 K/9). No homeruns allowed, at least.
Word is Pavano's place will be taken (for Tuesday, at least) by some AA kid named Chase Wright, who pitched last year in high A. I hope the bullpen is well rested.

Dodgers running all over the place against SD tonight - 5 SBs through 5. Padre catcher Rob Bowen must be having a brutal night back there, because even Jeff Kent has grabbed one.

Did you happen to see the Dodger ballboy take that ball to the face? That was a tough hop.

I just noticed that Harden left the game today with 'shoulder tightness'. If you had '3 starts' in your 'When will Harden get injured?' pool, you may be able to collect. He'll be evaluated tomorrow.

Billy Wagner so pathetic. How long has it been since he left Philly, and he still can't stop whining about how the fans never liked him. If this chump is in a stadium full of 45,000 people cheering him, and one person starts to boo, he only hears the boo. Quote:
Philly fans taunt, boo Mets' Wagner

NEW YORK -- Billy Wagner heard the taunts directed at Jimmy Rollins last week at Shea Stadium and just shook his head. For Wagner, the chants of "Jim-my Rol-lins" were tame compared to the treatment he received in Philadelphia last year. When Wagner made his return to Philadelphia last season the taunts included shouts of death threats.
"I don't know if anybody in this crowd was talking about killing somebody. You don't want to know what they were saying to me," Wagner said. When asked if he actually received threats, he said, "That's just normal stuff. It's sad. That's just how it is. You kind of shrug it off and play ball. I don't take it to heart."
He never complained or called security, taking the words as just idle chatter.
"I just shrug it off," said Wagner after Sunday's game with the Nationals was rained out. "Until there's something actually done, there's no reason to look at it any different."
At Citizens Bank Park the visiting bullpen sits nestled below a concourse and surrounded by bleachers. When the Mets arrived last season for Wagner's first appearance back in Philadelphia after he bolted for the Mets as a free agent, he was greeted with signs, taunts and fans throwing money at him. And the threats.
"He's one of the toughest guys you'll ever meet," Mets' bullpen coach Guy Conti said. "I take it seriously, take it as my responsibility. In Philadelphia they were throwing money at him -- he just laughed and picked it up, about $4 or $5."
Weather permitting, Wagner returns to Philadelphia tonight when the Mets are scheduled to begin a two-game set with the Phillies. And he knows that it could be even worse this time with the rivalry racheted up a notch by Rollins' preseason claims the Phillies were the team to beat in the National League this season.
"Clearly they're going to be behind their team," Wagner said. "That's what they'll say. I expect it to be just as rough on me as it was. They're going to get all over me and try to get a rise. But you know, we've got one thing on our mind, that's going down there and winning baseball games."
In New York, Rollins shrugged off the chants and taunts and after a crucial error helped cost the Phillies the first game of the series, he did deliver two home runs in the final game of the series. He tipped his cap to the fans and never complained. Wagner said he, too, never bothers to respond.
"I think it motivates [you]," he said. "I don't talk back. It's a no-win situation. You're talking to people who definitely don't like you, so there's no making them like you anyway."
Wagner actually has drawn the ire of Philadelphia fans already this season with an article in the Philadelphia Inquirer in which he claimed that the environment in Philadelphia made it harder to play there. But he laughs at the notion that it could get any worse.
His short time in Philadelphia was tainted when he called out some -- maybe one -- of his teammates as not caring enough about winning. That, coupled with his decision to take the Mets' offer and leave the Phillies behind made him a target.
"I didn't want to go there," said Wagner, who joined the Phillies in an off-season deal before the 2004 season. He spent two years there before leaving as a free agent. "I was disrespected. You're not going to stay in a situation like that. I saw that from Day One."
Now he's back. And he'd rather it didn't rain -- let them get the games in and get it over with. "It doesn't bother me one bit," he said . "I'm there a short time. Four hours they can yell and say what they want and then I'll go back to my room and relax.
"Most of them wouldn't recognize me if I was standing right beside them. If they do recognize me, they say, 'Hate that you left.' Who knows what they say behind your back and who cares? I get a lot of positive feedback there. The actual people that I met in Philadelphia were great."
He doesn't expect to hear those fans tonight.
