Might as well ask in here, seeing as how all the NHL 08 players are in one place. How many difficulty modes do you guys have, and how do they translate to how the hockey is played? Hardest mode on PC is pro, and it still plays nothing like hockey. Curious as to whether the version on next gen (which has a totally different engine) plays any different? I'm guessing guys like Phil and Andy will be better placed to answer this. PC version so disappointing really, but can't decide if it's go spend £300 to get a better game disappointing.

rookie, pro, all-star, superstar I think. As for the rest, not sure, but the AI certainly increases in complexity from rookie to pro.

Cant remember off the top of my head but I think there are about 5 difficulty levels? I'm sure someone will correct or I will check when I next boot up the 360.

Playing wise I am SO impressed with this version, the older games used to be a bit of fun, race down the ice and score, now it actually plays like a real game, work the openings, pass the puck around to create space. Obviously I haven't played the PC version but this is by far the best hockey game I have ever played. Is it worth spending £300? No.. But the 360 has some really brilliant games which make the system well worth buying.

If I had one criticism of the game its that I think Brian McCabe is really underrated

Oh and unlike previous games if you just solely go to line up huge open ice hits you will get destroyed. the players just deke around them.

Does the PC version still have the Speed button like all other Ice Hockey game i've ever played has? The game just used to be about bombing it past everyone with the speed button and taking a shot, in this game and indeed the previous version there is no speed button which leads to you have to pass it around more to create openings

Yeah, I can't tackle at all as they just skate past me being all fancy and stuff.

Dynasty has some kind of "AI learning" bar as well at the start. No idea wtf that is about, but sounded cool.
