Hermits unite. 'Tis the HD-DVD and Blu-Ray thread.
Probably end up with just Rats, Scott and I posting in here but meh. Thought it might be a good idea to have a thread where we can advise on new releases, what films are due on which format etc. And also the cheapest/best sites to use and good deals on the hardware and films themselves.
For those with 360's. Gamestation are currently selling the HD-DVD add-on for £99 plus £5 delivery. Play selling for £110 iirc.

Answer: Same as last time you asked this. Stand-alone players are better in terms of quality and features (normally) than players that are part of a console or the like. If you were to play a DVD through a PS2, and through a standalone, you would notice a difference, as an example.
Smeone like Scott could probably provide facts etc.

Yeah im in on this also.
Just finished watching planet earth hd-dvd, awesome. Doesn't have the diaries part of the episodes that were on tv which is a shame but great nonetheless.
Batman Begins is also recomended by me along with full metal jacket.
Where can we find a good list of upcoming releases?
HD-DVD currently quite a poor showing in the stores when compared to Blu-Ray, not sure if thats the case online tho!
