Rep Power: 0 | Oppo players are very well thought of if you're after a non HDDVD player. It upscales standard DVDS.

Well are you just looking to play your own collection of normal DVDs plus any you buy from now on or are you looking to start buying the new HDDVDs or Blu-Ray discs?
Sounds like normal DVDs is your thing, so check out the Oppo range.
You could always look for an all-in-one home cinema kit, DVD player with surround sound speakers. Samsung do a good one.

| It's coming out on HD-DVD but no release date yet (Hot Fuzz).

Forgetting that one is ok at it's best points, and the other is garbaged.
HDs going to make people forget that films actually have to be at the very least decent, isn't it? |

I've got a Panasonic HDTV and a Toshiba HD player but I don't have any surround sound speakers in place, so I don't think i'm getting the most out of the HD experience.
Can anyone recommend me a speaker system that I could get? I've tried to read the av forums but I don't understand any of the technical babble like 2.1/5.1/receivers etc. All I would like is something that would give me great surround sound for a large room and fully HD compatible. Cheers.
