Anyway, Standard DVD is the REAL winner atm, outselling both HD formats by MILES AND MILES.
| How long to wait, though.
I waited and waited to make the BetaMax/VHS decision. And STILL got it wrong. |

Well, later in the year there will be duel format players. They won't be cheap but they will help you avoid making the choice.

Yep, dual format players are about $1000 in the US. So one can only assume they'll be about £800-1000 here.
Mind you Richer Sounds are advertising that they are getting in the LG dual players so will be interesting how much they are.

i can't get excited about HD dvd players at the moment.

| Going good HD so expensive though, £500+ for a tv, £300(?) for sky HD, £400 for bluray/hd-dvd player (ps3/360) and £20 HD DVD's.

The current dual format players don't support all the features that hd-dvd offers iirc.

My TV cost £400 a while ago and is very good in comparison to any SD, SKY HD does not constitute good HD on the whole (mass upscaling) and i've never paid more than £12 for a HDDVD.
But yeah, it's not cheap.
