Philadelphia Tops Toronto for MLB Title
The celebrations have begun. The streets are alive with people and the confetti is flying. The Philadelphia Phillies have done it -- they won the 2018 World Series. The Phillies defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 11-9 at Citizens Bank Park to take the title. Philadelphia took the series 4-3 for their 1st Major League Baseball championship.
After the game, the victorious Phillies manager told the secret to his team's great season and World Series triumph, "The harder you work, the luckier you get," he said. "As far as I'm concerned, I'm the luckiest guy in the world today."
The new champions finished first in the regular season with a 97-65 record in the National League East.
