Tuesday, May 1st, 2018:
*North* Hurt, Out for 2 Weeks
A blow for Michael Danger *North* today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 2 weeks with a damaged meniscus. *North* suffered the injury making a defensive play. Although officials from the Chicago White Sox are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about *North*'s ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature.

Monday, May 7th, 2018:
*Marshall* Smacks 5 Hits for Angels
It's not something you read in the sports pages everyday -- a 5-for-5 day. It may only come around once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but James *Marshall* got one today. He scattered hits all over Angel Stadium of Anaheim to pace Los Angeles to a 12-1 victory over Oakland.

The Oakland skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, *Marshall* hit several that he is not supposed to hit."

J. *Marshall* singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off D. Rojas in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off G. Ryan in the 7th.

Saturday, May 12th, 2018:
Will *Jay* Extends Stay in Arizona
Will *Jay* might be greedy, but there's no disputing his talent. The hotshot closer will pocket $10,040,000 after re-signing with the Diamondbacks earlier today, and will hang around another 1 year.

Some more financially prudent fans worried that the signing would burden the club down the road and might prevent it from being competitive, though many others were simply thankful that *Jay* didn't bolt.

Sunday, May 13th, 2018:
Richard *McKeon* Hurt, Out of Action
"It was kinda freaky. Hopefully, I'll be back in the lineup soon," said a dejected Richard *McKeon* after injuring himself in a game against Washington. The Cincinnati manager told SION reporters, "He will miss up to 2 weeks with a strained achilles tendon." The Reds will have to decide over the next day or two whether the first baseman will go on the disabled list.

Friday, May 18th, 2018:
400 Home Runs for Chicago Slugger
White Sox right fielder Michael Danger *North* reached a career milestone yesterday, blasting home run number 400.

He took the achievement in stride. "It's always good to get another home run and even better to get another win," *North* told reporters in the postgame interview.

He went 1-4 during the Chicago 6-2 triumph over the Cleveland Indians and scored 1 run with 1 run batted in.

*North* has put up a career batting average of .330 with 1754 hits, 400 homers and 1144 RBIs.

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018:
*Banach* Reaches 2000
It was a day of mixed emotions for Atlanta third baseman Ant *Banach*, who collected his 2000th hit in the club's 6-5 loss to Cincinnati. Braves and Reds fans alike cheered *Banach* as he reached base after his historic hit.

"I wish the score had been different," *Banach* said after the game, "but it was a great moment. The standing ovation was really special...even the fans wearing Reds caps were cheering me."

*Banach* was 2-4 on the day.

During his 1514-game career *Banach* has batted .343 and collected 2000 hits, 345 home runs and 1177 RBIs.

Thursday, May 24th, 2018:
*Toner* Makes 400 HR Mark
Los Angeles's outstanding center fielder Gary *Toner* joined the 400 Club today at Angel Stadium of Anaheim with a booming blast in the Angels win over the Mariners. They topped Seattle 14-6.

On his milestone day *Toner* had 1 hit in 2 at-bats with 1 run batted in and 2 runs scored.

Tongue-in-cheek he told the press, "Don't tell me when I get close to the next milestone. Just tell me after I reach it. It will be easier to hit that way."

In his career stats *Toner* has compiled a .331 batting average and collected 1790 hits, 400 home runs and 1194 RBIs.

Tuesday, May 29th, 2018:
Hit #2000 for Express *Bartholomew*
Iain *Bartholomew* of the Nashville Express collected career hit number 2000 against the Seattle Mariners today. The 30-year-old catcher went 2 for 4 in a 6-5 Nashville victory at Nashville Grounds.

*Bartholomew* has a .340 career batting average and has hit a total of 486 home runs.

Friday, June 1st, 2018:
*Bartholomew* Brings Home AL Batter of Month Honor
Free agent-to-be Iain *Bartholomew* has inflated his asking price over the past 30 days by winning the American League Batter of the Month.

In May, the 30-year-old Nashville catcher hit .400 with 9 home runs and 21 RBIs.

If he keeps putting numbers like that up, he could be hauling in a big wad of cash at this time next year.

Friday, June 1st, 2018:
*Giddy* Picks Up Best NL Batter Honors for May
The National League has made it official -- Jimmy *Giddy* is the winner of the Batter of the Month trophy.

In May, the St. Louis first baseman starred with a .377 batting average, 4 home runs and 23 RBIs. *Giddy* also had 25 walks, posted a .496 on-base percentage and scored 27 times.

Friday, June 1st, 2018:
Oakland Athletics *Roolz* to Cincinnati for James
Officials for the Oakland Athletics confirmed that they have traded 30-year old first baseman Gurkin *Roolz* to the Cincinnati Reds. In return, the Athletics will receive 22-year old minor league second baseman Toby James.

*Jay* for Zaragoza in Blockbuster Deal
It's a major deal that has everyone talking. The Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Mets have reached an agreement. The Diamondbacks will swap 30-year old closer Will *Jay* for 23-year old reliever Jorge Zaragoza.

"It's a huge shakeup," noted one pundit, "You don't see deals like this every day. A lot had to go right for this to happen."

In 2018 *Jay* has collected 10 saves. He has 30 strikeouts and 1 walk in 23.2 innings while registering a 1.52 ERA and a 2-1 won-lost record.

His record this season is 0-and-1 with no saves and a 6.29 ERA. Zaragoza has given up 32 hits in 24.1 innings with 12 strikeouts.

Thursday, June 28th, 2018:
*Blood* 5-5 for New York
There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. Jonno *Blood* of the New York Yankees had one of those moments when he went 5 for 5 at the plate today in the 25-7 win over the Chicago White Sox at Yankee Stadium II.

The 30-year-old second baseman told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day...enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe."

J. *Blood* walked in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run triple in the 5th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 8th.
