Cleveland Crowned MLB Champions
The Cleveland Indians concluded the season in grand fashion -- they won the Major League Baseball World Series. They nailed it down at Jacobs Field by whipping the San Francisco Giants 8-2 to win it all. They took the series 4-3.
Their motto for the season was "Win or Die Trying".
"They never let up and they never stopped trying the whole season," the Indians manager proudly told reporters. "They hustled and fought the whole season and it continued in the playoffs. They are a very special bunch of guys."
To get their 3rd league crown, the Indians finished up the regular season in the American League Central with a 106-56 record, ending up in first place in the division standings.

New York and Arizona Agree to Swap
The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The New York Yankees sent 29-year old first baseman Steve *Austin* to the Arizona Diamondbacks for 28-year old left fielder Josh *Bada* and 21-year old minor league starting pitcher Chad Robinson.
Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.

AL Rookie of the Year Award Given Out
This year's best newcomer has been picked by the SION Baseball Writers Association and the honor went to Oakland first baseman Gurkin *Roolz*. He received the 2016 American League Rookie of the Year Award for his solid season.
It was a season to remember for the 28-year-old Athletics rookie. He wrapped up his first year with a .316 batting average, 25 doubles, 7 triples and 22 home runs. *Roolz* also had 68 RBIs and scored 79 times.

*Squire* Wins National League Pitching Crown
The 2016 National League Cy Young Award has gone to Pittsburgh Pirates ace Gaz *Squire* after a stellar 22-4 season.
In 37 starts he notched 280 innings, 345 strikeouts and a 2.19 ERA. *Squire* held opposing hitters to a .200 batting average, walking 76.

AL Gives #1 Pitcher Award
The regular season is history and it is time to give out the awards. This year's winner of the prestigious American League Cy Young Award is Chris *Porter* of the Boston Red Sox.
The 2016 trophy winner had a splendid season, winning 18 games and suffering only 8 losses. He made 35 starts, chalked up 251.2 innings, 275 strikeouts and an impressive 2.68 ERA.

NL Gives out Most Valuable Player Award, *McKeon* Gets Prize
Richard *McKeon* and his traveling hit parade made numerous stops all over the National League this year. The ball was really flying off his bat as he put together a .357 batting average. Today he claimed the much-coveted 2016 Most Valuable Player Award.
He hit his way to an award-winng season with these stats: 171 walks, .513 OBP, 189 hits, 45 home runs, 116 RBIs and 141 runs scored.

It was a pay-raising season for Cleveland's shortstop. Regardless of where Peter *Burrage* signs on next year, this 2016 American League Most Valuable Player Award will be considered a marquee pickup.

Officials for the Seattle Mariners confirmed that they have traded 28-year old shortstop Dominik *Sikora* to the Toronto Blue Jays. In return, the Mariners will receive 33-year old first baseman Adam Lind.
*Sikora* has a lifetime .345 average and .457 on-base percentage in his career with 1555 hits, 256 doubles, 46 triples, 186 home runs, 699 RBIs and 962 runs scored.
Looking at his all-time stats, Lind has a lifetime .294 average with 1809 hits, 387 doubles, 26 triples, 286 home runs and 1154 RBIs. To date he has scored 927 runs, walked 569 times and stolen 10 bases.
