*Burrage* Smacks 5 Hits for Indians
Peter *Burrage* was on quite a roll today as he knocked the ball all over the park, collecting 5 hits and leading the Indians to a 13-0 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

After the first three hits, all eyes in the ballpark were drawn to him each time he stepped into the batter's box. Even a few of the opposing fans were pulling for him, knowing they were watching a little baseball-hitting history unfold.

In the clubhouse, crowded by reporters, the Cleveland shortstop said, "I never realized that batting a little ball around could cause so much commotion." When asked what the secret of hitting so well is, he smiled and replied, "The key to hitting for a high average is to relax, concentrate and hit the ball where they ain't."

Nobody was at home today as *Burrage* finished the day with 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a line in the record book.

P. *Burrage* singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off J. Huber in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off D. Willis in the 8th.

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2014:
*Blood* Day-to-Day with Injury
Jonno *Blood*, the talented Los Angeles star, suffered a tender shoulder yesterday in the game with the Devil Rays, which could keep him out of today's lineup. "I'm a bit banged up," said the 26-year-old second baseman, "but we won't know until game time if I can play or not." *Blood* got hurt while throwing the ball. The team doctor said he could be out up to one week.

Sunday, September 7th, 2014:
Starting Pitcher Luigi *Thirty* Hurt
Luigi *Thirty* had to leave the White Sox game against Kansas City after suffering a finger blister while throwing a pitch. He will be out of the lineup at least 2 weeks. He told SION reporters, "I just felt a sharp pain when it happened. I knew there was something wrong."

Monday, September 8th, 2014:

Great Week for St. Louis's Third Baseman
Gene *Keurulainen* nabbed the latest National League Player of the Week Award for his batting prowess this past week.

In 6 games started he struck out 56 in 47 innings with a 2.30 ERA.

Wednesday, October 1st, 2014:
Bad News for Boston, *Haz* Hurt
Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now *Haz* of the Red Sox knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Cleveland Indians while running the bases. Diagnosed as a strained thigh muscle, the Boston first baseman is expected to miss 1-2 weeks. *Haz* was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "There is nothing I can do now. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen."

Saturday, October 4th, 2014:
*Blood* Launches Number 300
"I wasn't trying to hit a homer. I just wanted to make contact."
That's what Jonno *Blood* told reporters after he made baseball history today at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The prolific slugger belted home run #300 in the Los Angeles Angels 12-0 victory over the Oakland Athletics.

The standout second baseman collected 1 hit in 5 at-bats with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored.

"I guess this puts me in baseball's elite," said *Blood*. "I don't feel any different. I probably should, but I don't. Still, it is a nice achievement. I did get a little excited, didn't I?"
