Hardly anyone has Essien. Surely at 8m he's the best "Star Player" there is to choose from. Got plenty of points last season and that was mostly being played in defence. Moving back to midfield this season i can only see him improving on last seasons score.
But he's off to the African Nations </BLOCKQUOTE>

Hadn't thought of that but aren't you able to do january transfers? </BLOCKQUOTE>

Weekly transfers :p
I've got him, I agree that he's at a great price. </BLOCKQUOTE>

Definitely a great price, he's a gaurenteed starter and is valued the same as the subs for the top teams (Nani/Anderson)

How do the weekly transfers work? What do they cost? </BLOCKQUOTE>

They cost 4 pts from your total

Although in 1 week you can play a wild card and make as may transfers as you want for nothing. Its best to play this after January </BLOCKQUOTE>

4 Points is pretty reasonable. Cheers for the info.

Transfers
After selecting your squad you can still deal in the transfer market. Unlimited squad transfers can be made, 1 transfer can be made between each gameweek deadline without charge. Each additional transfer made in the same gameweek will deduct 4 points from your total at the next deadline. Free transfers are not carried over from week to week.

All transfers before the start of the season are made at no cost. For teams entering after the start of the season, no points will be deducted before their first deadline.

You can play 1 transfer wild card a season. All transfers made in the Gameweek your wild card is played will be without points deduction. You play your wild card when confirming transfers.

Any transfers you make will become active at the next deadline.

That seems alot easier then. You have no need to ever worry about a big name getting injured as you can just replace him for free.

You'll also be able to buy/sell players depending on who they are playing that week. Constantly changing your goalkeeper when they are playing one of the big teams might be helpful lol.

or for some players, none. my keepers are Lehmann and Green, but i reckon i'll have to change that as neither will play Gameweek 2.

Yeh, it should be good if people continue to play for the whole season and don't just forget about it like usual lol.
