It will be a totally different team, with Advocaat and Arshavin leaving.

Dynamo 2 - 1 Shakhtar today btw

Arshavin is leaving ?!? That would be a disaster for Zenit, although he is good enough to play at many of the top clubs and a class above in the RPL.

Dynamo badly need an overhaul with their players, Correa aside (and occasionally Rincon), the rest of the foreigners are too average to make the step up to the Champions League

Regarding Arshavin - it's not a fact yet. But there are many rumours and he wants to try himself in Western Europe. Was even dropped and moved to the reserves some time ago for not signing a new contract. However CL football may convince him to stay. Though unlikely.

On another note - Tymoschuk gave an interview today, where he said that the info circulating within the club suggests Advocaat is staying.

Regarding Dynamo - Rincon and Correa are in awful awful form. Bangura is the only really good foreigner at the moment.

Forgot about Bangura, hasn't he been injured for the Champions League games?

More good news for Russia probably coming up this season, looks like in 2009-10 they will have 3 teams in the Champions League, 2 straight though to the knockout stages.

Yes, but it's a minor injury. So he play a game, misses a game, plays a game, etc. When he plays - he's brilliant.

Diakhate is out till the new year. :thdn:

And regarading Russian CL - t'will be Spartak, Zenit and CSKA all the way. Loko are in a tight spot each season, and fired their manager today. Will need at least 2 seasons to really challenge

Loko are probably the second richest club in the league though, and just a quick look at their record shows they beat most of the top teams and messed up against the lesser one, so they shoudl definately be pushing that top 3. Seventh is a disgrace for them this year.

Zenit \0/
Really wanted them to win this year.

RE Arshavin, would be nice to see if he could make it at one of the big teams/big leagues but I would also love him to stay, would only make the league stronger, progress etc.

They are signing Torbinskyj from Spartak (he's brilliant) iirc. But may lose Ivanovic and Biljaletdinov. Plus a new manager.

If Advocaat and Arshavin stay at Zenit - Loko will be 4th at best. Spartak and CSKA simply stronger. And lose less points against second-half teams.

Loko are the Russian Spurs
