Yeah, that Osman/Watson/Kilbane/someone quartet really fills me with confidence.

No I don't. :p

I don't know whether he'll be good, rubbish or mediocre. He was mediocre at the tail end of last season, but then that was an improvement on most people. Got potential though, so fingers crossed.

Moyes appears to be grooming him to play on the right, so an improvement on Watson at least.

Main problem for me is firstly a centre-back to partner Joey/carry one of the pensioners when Joey buggers off to play for Nigeria, and a holding midfielder. Carrick isn't one. Carsley is a joke of a one. Which leaves us waiting for Li Tie? Or some great unknown.

As for defense...looks like we'll have to make do with what we've got, or hope Bosnar turns out to be some sort of legend.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR> Francis Jeffers today urged Wayne Rooney to follow his example and leave Everton.

Charlton's new £2.6 million signing played alongside his good friend, Rooney, last season while on loan at Goodison Park and believes it would be best for all concerned if Everton cashed in on their teenage star.

Jeffers struggled after swapping Everton for Arsenal in an £8m move three years ago, being sent back to Merseyside last season before signing for Charlton yesterday, but is confident Rooney has the ability to make an impact wherever he plays.

In a stinging attack on his old club he said: "It's a difficult one but it may be best for all parties if he moves on.

"Evertonians might have a pop at me over that but with the stuff that's going on and off the field it's bound to have an affect on him. He's a young lad, who wants to be playing with the best players in the world and rightly so.

"It might affect him mentally to go back to Everton next season. If Everton were financially stable and looking to build on their squad it would be the right environment for him, but over the last few seasons Everton have sold their best players.

"The fans give players a lot of stick but it's about time they had a look and realised the club isn't as ambitious as they are saying.

"They sold myself, Michael Ball, Richard Dunne in one season yet the board push everything on to the young lads.

"They are still heavily in debt and I don't know where the money goes. I feel I was forced into a situation where I had to leave the football club.

"The board should come clean and admit that they're not as ambitious as they're saying. You can't just say you're ambitious but have to prove it like Charlton."

Charlton have signed Jeffers on a two-year contract and are hoping a permanent change of club will help him recapture his best form.

Charlton manager Alan Curbishley said: "He needed a change and he is exactly the sort of player I like to sign because I feel he is angry and hungry."

Funny, I remember Jug-Ears saying that moving to Arsenal at the age he did was the biggest mistake he ever made.

Li Tie back in full training by the end of the month  We've really missed this guy I reckon, he can slot in alongside Cahill/TFWL (depends if he's off or not) and do a good job for us.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>Everton Keep Eye on Coridon

Everton could make an attempt to hijack any bid from Celtic to sign Charles Edouard Coridon, according to French sources.

The attacking midfielder played his part in The Bhoys' friendly win over Tottenham on Tuesday night but his availability has attracted admiring glances from rival clubs.

Celtic are contemplating whether to sign the Lens man after his positive impression at Parkhead, but they may not be the only club chasing the tall 31-year-old.

Everton boss David Moyes is still keen to strengthen his squad and, despite already enhancing his midfield options with the arrival of Millwall's Tim Cahill, could bid to compete for Coridon's signature.

However, the player is thought to prefer a move to Glasgow and is hopeful the two clubs can agree a deal.

"I have had offers to go to other clubs since I arrived in Glasgow," he is quoted as saying on Lens' official website. "But it is here that I want to be.

"To play in the UEFA Champions League is important for me.

Whether Coridon has done enough to seal a move to Martin O'Neill's Scottish Premier League champions is the crux of the matter, and Moyes is likely to be awaiting developments eagerly.

<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

All the Scottish papers were saying he was crap today after he played for Celtic vs Spurs last night. Hopefully we don`t pursue this avenue or go after Craig Moore either, as he was terrible last year and is a crock.

Don't need an attacking midfielder, either need a defensive midfielder or a centre-back.

Apparently Everton are going to sign Dutch defender Jurgen Colin on a year-long loan.
