We should get a bit of cash from some of the wage earners going on a free. But whether this is put to new contracts for existing players or to buy in new ones remains to be seen...

We can't score for sh'it atm so you've got a fighting chance against us on Friday, unless Kanoute decides he feels like volleying one in from 35 yards like last time

Don't know if he said that! But i think Clarke's quite good, he did alright on loan to Cov before he got sent off and he also has a few England U21 caps to his name. I'd like to see him get more of a chance.

Moyes doesn't seem to want to play any of them though. I've been saying Osman should have a go in Midfield for ages...

Yeah, we would of been £5mil down and in 14th position.

We have got 15 players out of contract at the end of this season. I would personally love it if Ferguson and Campbell buggered off. They must be tying up about £50k a week between them.

As for new players, I haven't got a clue. I know you couldn't do this but getting rid of everyone else other than Roon, Raders, Gravesen, Yobo and Wright would not be a bad start.

We have had some excellent prospects come through in the past but they all turned out ****e or were sold. eg Cadamarteri, Branch, Ball, Simonsen, Dunne and Peter Clarke will join that list.

Peter Clarke has been rubbish whenever he's played in the first team. Okay fair does, everytime it's been as a right-back, but he's just not shown it. Unsworth can still do a job for us, especially at centre-back alongside Joey, they just need time to get an understanding going and need to cut out the silly stuff.

As for midfield, I say time and time again that Osman has to be given a shot. Moyesy has tried every other option fs, what's the harm in giving the kid a go?

I don't think relegation is a real threat for us...it's just an overraction by the meldrew tendancy everytime we put in a poor performance What we really need is Scot Gemmill back from Preston

Nah, I said Hibbert was at right-back. Although he's gone way off the ball this season since his hernia op.

Anyway, I'm not too worried about relegation this season. I think we'll probably win all three of our home games (or get 7 points at least), as we have generally been solid at Goodison all season, and possibly pick up points at Leeds and Wolves, which would leave us quite comfortable.

But we do need to do a lot in the close season if we're to move forward, and having missed the opportunity to do that last year when we'd have been building on success, we now have to do it when we're a much less attractive proposition.
