So I'm no help.
The system must be really crazy then!
I just found the explanation on MLS site:
Quote:
Each of the 12 MLS teams will field a reserve division team and play a 12-game schedule (six home, six away) during the 2005 season. All teams will play a minimum of seven opposing reserve division teams at least once throughout the year. The reserve division standings will consist of a single table with the team that finishes in first place at the end of the regular season earning the title of reserve division champions and a $20,000 team bonus.
It doesn't explain how they decide who play against who...

Atlanta! the MLS should avoid Atlanta like the plague! atlanta is the worst sports city in the states! they dont support any of the teams they have now, soccer would fail there.

btw why doesnt MLS consider Rochester when expanding? its one of the largest markets without a major franchise and is already fans of soccer, all they have to do is have the Rhinos join the mls

rochester has an outstanding ownership group, a sss, and a great group of supporters. coming up with $10 mil is obviously difficult and the real problem is that the mls doesn't really want them because they're more concerned with large cities with crap support (toronto) than actually growing from the grass roots already existing.

The other part of the equation is the cash calls that still come in. Not only would a Rochester group have to put up $10M for an expansion fee, not only would they have to come up with the money to pay the players, etc., but they'll also have to have the money to share in the rest of the league covering Metrostars' losses.
They're almost better off waiting until Metro moves into Harrison. I think Peter Wilt has said on Big Soccer that getting Metro out of the Meadowlands and into Harrison will eliminate a majority of the annual leaguewide losses.

10 million is chump change. reminds me of the original owners in the AFL, spent about 10 million to start a franchise now they are all worth 250-700 million. if i had 10 million sitting around i think it would be a sound investment
