Nicol - It *could* happen I suppose, but he seems to like it here in the US.

Johnson - It *could* happen. After all, MLS reportedly turned down a $5 million offer from Benfica in the summer. Although I think the asking price might have to come down a bit after Johnson's injury. The league may hang onto him through the winter transfer window and hope that he lights up Germany.

SJ and KC - I haven't heard anything about Kansas City's status, but supposedly the owners of the NHL's San Jose Sharks along with a former San Jose mayor are seriously exploring a purchase of the Quakes and have been talking to San Jose and Santa Clara city governments about a stadium. If there's going to be a relocation, it'll have to happen within the next month or so.

None of that means that MLS doesn't want foreign players and the decoration they offer. MLS is working to re-sign Ruiz for Dallas. And much of the impetus behind the current discussions of a special player designation, for one star that would operate outside the salary cap, is for the David Beckhams who might one day land on MLS shores.
