So Jason, what do you reckon to this lot of rumours I have heard:

Nicol to leave the Revs;
Johnson to be sold in January (golf clubs included);
San Jose and KC to stay put...
Nicol - It *could* happen I suppose, but he seems to like it here in the US.

Johnson - It *could* happen. After all, MLS reportedly turned down a $5 million offer from Benfica in the summer. Although I think the asking price might have to come down a bit after Johnson's injury. The league may hang onto him through the winter transfer window and hope that he lights up Germany.

SJ and KC - I haven't heard anything about Kansas City's status, but supposedly the owners of the NHL's San Jose Sharks along with a former San Jose mayor are seriously exploring a purchase of the Quakes and have been talking to San Jose and Santa Clara city governments about a stadium. If there's going to be a relocation, it'll have to happen within the next month or so.

FFS, Daaaaave.

From around and about:

Dave Checketts has decided to back out of purchasing the St. Louis Blues.

And that fine bastion of journalistic integrity called The Sun says David Moyes is interested in bringing Josh Wolff to Everton for 500,000 GBP.

Because Everton don't have enough strikers who can't score?

None of that means that MLS doesn't want foreign players and the decoration they offer. MLS is working to re-sign Ruiz for Dallas. And much of the impetus behind the current discussions of a special player designation, for one star that would operate outside the salary cap, is for the David Beckhams who might one day land on MLS shores.
What do you think of this "special player designation" idea?

The following have been placed on waivers:

Chicago: Andy Rosenband, DeMetrius White

Chivas USA: Armando Begines, Hector Cuadros, Isaac Romo, Shaun Kalnasy, Javier Barraga, Victor Arbelo, Milton Blanco

Colorado: Wolde Harris, Alain Nkong, Diego Serna

Columbus: Stephen Armstrong, Devin Barclay, Ryan Kelly, Mark Schulte

Dallas: Chris Gomez, John Pulido

DC United: Kenny Arena, Nana Kuffour, Tim Merritt, Jason Thompson

Kansas City: (none found)

Los Angeles: Michael Umana

Metrostars: Ramon Bailey, Chris Corcoran, Daniel Garipe, Eric Quill, Ryan Suarez, Mike Ueltschey

New England: Ricardo Phillips, Jamie Holmes (who's torched me repeatedly on WWSM ), Connerly Edozien

Real Salt Lake: (none found)

San Jose: Roger Levesque, Orlando Ramirez

The "none found" means just that. The waiver deadline was today, I just haven't found any info if the teams in question waived guys (and supposedly RSL were to have a few on the list) or didn't have to waive anyone.

The waiver draft is Wednesday at 5 pm ET by conference call.
