Walking through Chinatown, irrelevant of the London or Calgary version, first thing in the morning on the way to work has been enough to put me off chinky for life. Looking at some of the stuff lying in the street and thinking 'does that do in the food'?
Not good.

Yea, so I’m currently going out with this Chinese girl. I think she’s really sweet… Post #12
I think of Chinese food as survival food. They use anything and everything. No nice desserts.
Also, when you get chinese food next time ask for no MSG. Its been proved as a link to cancer iirc. Its added to make the food nice. Chinese people regularly ask for this not to be added.

But I used to get special fried rice with plenty of chilli oil. They would be amazed that I would ask for lashings of chilli oil. Perhaps they were just being tight.

Don't think there is a link to cancer but on the wikipedia article says some people have a reaction to it, and in mice high amounts of glutamic acid caused brain damage in them or something.
