It's taken Shearer a while, but at least he's speaking his mind (a little). No way would he have been able to (or done so to) make such a comment if he was still a player.

Bellamy is a good little player, but he's also a gob$hite.

I think he’s out of line personally. While Shearer might not like Bellamy surely he realises the successful partnership they had and the difference he made to our side.

Sounds like he’s letting his personal opinion get in the way of his professional one.

I also find it a bit funny how you go on and on about wanting players with passion and commitment then when the likes of them come along (Bellamy, Barton, Bowyer) you don’t want much to do with them.

You can’t always get the Shearer’s and Keene’s.

Bellamy had passion yes, but it was for his own ego and not for the good of the club. Remember this is a player who feigned injury when Souness was in charge - not exactly putting the club first is it ? :thdn: Bellamy will always have a section of unwavering support amongst our ranks - I'm not one of them. Whilst he did have a huge impact on the upturn of the team this was offset by the disciplinary problems he presented and it was always going to end one way.

You can be a passionate person, but that doesn't mean you go around thumping team mates (on and off the pitch) or never being off the front/back page of the tabloids.

Being passionate is one thing - being an egotistical crackerjack/bordering psychotic is something entirely different.

He didn't feign injury at all.

Souness said he was injured and Bellamy said "No I'm not".

Being a good player who can transform a side almost on your own can be another good thing.

The season before Bellamy arrived we were in a similar position to we’re in now. Most of the fans (including myself) were saying we’d need at least half a dozen players to turn things round. In the end we brought in Bellamy, Robert and Elliott and were transformed to a top four side and had a good chance of challenging for the title until a certain gobsh!te picked up an injury.

Funny how we sign Barton and the talk is of Allardyce controlling him like he has done with others like Diouff but any talk of Bellamy receives nothing but disdain from a large set of our fans.

Ackter - Bellamy feigned injury. It's a well known fact up here.

Neil - Bellamy has had his chance at the club, Barton hasn't and has the chance to prove the doubters (which include me) wrong.

As I said, the impact which Bellamy had on the playing field can't be overstated enough, but at the risk of repeating myself - his demise was always going to be inevitable. There's no room for anything/anyone inside of Bellamy's head other than Bellamy himself.

His demise was caused by an aging Robson and a just plain crap Souness. Someone with an ounce of man management could have dealt with him.
