A little too expensive though...

Apparently Toshiba are working on technology that is even better then OLED...

Toshiba is really pushing technology innovation enevelope these days...their also getting quite strong in the semi-conductor portfolio area.

If a TV description says it's resolution is 1366x768 does that means it supports 1080p?

That res will only do 720p i believe, needs a resolution of 1920×1080 or higher to do 1080p.

I thought so... Cheers...

Well that throws one of my options out of the window...

I want a Panasonic...32inch or bigger...capable of 1080p and under a grand. Not been easy. I've seen this but it's slightly over...ever so slightly...If only I could find those same specs but for a 32 inch instead of 42...

Choosing a TV is proving to be such a 'mare.

The Sharp 1080p 32" and 37" look promising, as do the new Tosh and Sony TVs. Just managed to get to a stage where all I now do is read reviews and wait for AVForums threads to fill up.

Biting the bullet just never seems to come around.

I am hoping to get a new tv myself next year although it wont be untill the summer at the earliest.
The only tv that appeals to me at the moment is the Sharp althouh I am sure there wil be even better tvs next year.

http://www.laskys.com/tv_and_dvd/lcd_tvs/lcd_tvs_46_to_...yword=SHARP+LC46XD1E

I prefer LCDS because I like to watch football and play games and I dont think the plasma is as good for fast images although I could be wrong but Plasma wise Fujitsu and Pioneer are the best but normally pricey.

My advice to the poster above who is unsure what tv to get is I would go for the sharp as it is full hd, response rate of less than 5ms meaning you can watch fast action on the tv with no motion blur and the link that I posted has it for £1090 that is a 46" while another store has it for just over £2000.
I just had a look at its specs and it has 2,000:1 contrast ratio I dont know what it means to be honest but normally when i look at the tv specs the contrast ratio is 1200:1 that's the best I have seen.
Bad points I can't see component on the list of connectors which is surprising and only 2 HDMI connectors.

I got the Samsung LE26R87 in the end http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-LE26R87-Widescreen-Read...eeview/dp/B000O15GOK

Although I realised now it doesnt do the 1080 resolutuion or whatever, is that just due to its size? How much difference does it actually make? I only got a new TV to make the xbox look its best really, would be irritating if it couldnt even handle the highest res

Just want to add the 37" sharp has a response rate of 6ms which is still good as anything under 8ms will do and the contrast ratio is 1,200-1 but it is cheaper costing £725 from amazon although I woud pay a bit extra and get it from go-electrical for £769 as I know their service is good and more of a tv specialist than amazon when it comes to tvs.
If you can afford it and have the room I would go for the 46" inch.
