ok mates, need a little help here. buying a tv on friday. will be one of the three following sets. would like someone to take a look at the specs and tell me what's what. ultimately, I'll choose based on what I see in the showroom but forewarned is forearmed. will consider it a personal favor for some good advice. all 42" and all basically identical in price. usage pretty broad. mostly sd and dvd, some hd, some gaming.

toshiba regza 42hl67 (lcd)
samsung hp-t4254 (plasma)
panasonic th-42px75u (plasma)

D, out of those, the Panasonic edges it. Panny sets are very highly regarded on the specialized consumer forums such as avforums. Popular opinion suggests that Plasma edges it over LCD, also.

was hoping to narrow it down a bit after seeing all 3 in a store last night, but it's still close.

the toshiba had the crisper picture, but color tones were muted. samsung had vibrant colors, but a lot of jaggies and blurs. panasonic (had to look at a 50" since there were no 42's on the floor) middle of the road with nothing outstanding but no flaws I could see either.

plus it's easy to second guess myself since the lighting in the store was crap and some monkey might have messed with the control to give a sub-par picture.

all 3 showed the same american football hd broadcast. didn't see any sd afaik except maybe the commercials and no dvd.

Alright lads, I have tried to trawl through the pages of this already, but all the good ones I see have broken links, etc so starting anew.

basically all I want is a TV that will fully show off the capabilities of an Xbox 360, 26" and under £400 if possible

would maybe go under 26" if it was an awesome TV, but I just want it to completely show the 360 to its fullest

Thanks people

That samsuung looks nice but i would proberbly go for this one
http://www.laskys.com/tv_and_dvd/lcd_tvs/lcd_tvs_26_to_...5.html#specification

Has all the free view channels
2 HDMI connections so you can use it for 360 and sky HD in the future or playstation 3

Has connection for digital sound, to be honest either of them tvs is good value. I would do a search and see which has the best feedback etc but as I say they both represent great value for under £400.
