No. It's not an amp like a guitar amp, it's a high tech bundle of cleverness that will make your movies sound as good as they look. The speakers I linked to came with a subwoofer. The satellite speakers and the sub, together with all your audio devices plug into the amp, and it all comes through sounding like being there.

It might be worth ordering some banana plugs tp put onto the ends of the speaker cables. It makes wiring them up to the amp a doddle.

Well I will be using it a good bit for gaming so I presume LCD is preferred over plasma in this regard?

How did you find it? I looked under TV/Plasma/LG and it's not there?

I would not buy an amp and speakers just yet because later in the year there will be amps that can decode true dolby digital the new sound format for HD and bluray.
£1000 you can get a good system round about mid range.

LCDs I dont know how much you have to spend but if you are going for a tv over 42" you want to go for a 1920x1080 resolution this will give you full HD (1080p).
I would go for this one http://www.webelectricals.co.uk/eStore/Product.asp?Prod...1-B5DB-51AE2403EF1D}

I have seen Sony bravia KDL 40" on the net for £900 but imo the sharp is best value for money.
