The PlayStation 3 may be capable of 1080p, but there are no games that support it right now. The company also clarifies the importance of HDMI for its self-styled full HD.

Thats why the extra it costs to get a 1080p set isnt worth it atm

Im not convinced by it anymore. Its 1080i and not 1080p the pixel ration is lower than the recommended as well.

Tbh im so confused over all the different needs to get a spot on set that I have gone onto AV to ask for some help. Hopefully someone there should be able to clear a few things up!

How much better are the new ones than the R7 Series? I can get a 32" R7 model with 3 years warranty for around £530. Or would i be better going and getting the new R8 model?

Not too sure. 3 HDMI ports the obvious one but you really dont need that many. Im guessing its just slight improvements like contrast radio etc

An update on my Hannspree.

After a lot of fiddling around, I've started using 720p for windows - it's not ideal but I don't use it for web-browsing etc anyway so not a problem.

Games and Media Center I can run at 1080i and it looks awesome. For under £500 it's a bargain and compares favorably with much more expensive sets from what I've heard.

Also the JT model that Intekx sell works fine at native res so is even better. If anyone wants a budget LCD then it's the best of the bunch according to the peeps on AVForums.

Im sure 720p is better than 1080i, especially for gaming as its progressive scan
