Okay i goota questions and i'm very confused.

I got a 32" HD LCD tv. Is it worth upgrading to an upscaling DVD player?

Some sources say that the TV will already be upscaling for me. Some say that the HDMI connection is no different to Component. So getting an upscaling DVD player will make no difference. Opinions?
All HD tvs come with a built in scaler. That's why they can show SD transmissions. However, like everything, some are better than others. Panasonic, Pioneer and Fujitsu have reputably the best built in scalers.

As for buying your own, it's piece of string time again. There's no point in buying a bargain bucket scaler if your tv's scaler is already doing a good job.

As with most things in life, you get what you pay for. </BLOCKQUOTE>

So do you need a 42inch TV to show 1080p?

Amazon have a got an offer on now in regards to Samsung HD tv's.

£529 for their 32" offering.

Also I'm intending of buying either a 37" or 42" telly, with the sole purpose of using it for gaming and watching films etc via my laptop.
I'm guessing an HDMI input is a must but does the quality come from the TV or the graphics card in my laptop?

Can anyone help me with what specs i should be looking out for when buying a HDTV. Im mainly going to be using it for my Wii and 360 and hopefully a Ps3 sooner or later.

Im looking for something in the 32 to 42inch range for my room and looking to spend under £1000 if possible.

Could you also tell me which HDTV you have and whether(sp?) or not you would recommend it.

This is the one thats appealed to me the most up to now http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/MCRPR/3-/92..._LCD_TV/Product.html

Thanks in advance.

Its panasonic, thus quality. I have the TH37PX60 and adore it. Wish I could justify getting this to replace it as I love panny tvs so much.

On the verge of going for a Panasonic 32LXD70. I've been bouncing back and forth between that, a Samsung M86 or a Toshiba 32WLT68. Think I'll go with the panny, if I can find somewhere with it in stock.

Anyone got one of these?

Thought it was a good offer what with it being reduced to £200 to £349?
