it has the ability to upscale regular DVD's to near HD quality in both vision and sound!
Doesnt the 360 do that if you run through a VGA cable?

There's a website called digitaldirect (not sure if it's .com or .co.uk). They have huge discounts, talkings about 50% off normal prices.

Think 360 upscales to 560pand it wont be as good as a standalone player.

Right, going to see JL will pricematch the Sony 40W2000. ED have it for £1500, it's £500 more at JL.

I'm certain they'll tell me to **** off, so I have the tel number for every JL that is reachable by car within 1hr and I'm going to call them all up

It looks like my house move might be getting nearer, so my search for a new TV system continues.

I was thinking of this with this.

But I'm now considering spending a fair bit more and looking at this with this.

I'm looking for something that will be used mostly for Sky HD, so am I right in saying the cinema system will need an optical cable to play the 5.1 sound?

I woudn't go for them speakers. I would go for Kef 2005.2 or some Bose.
I would not go for the panasonic 60 as it is a budget model of the 600 although normally you just get few conections.
What amp was you thinking of getting to run the speakers from?

I'm not really too bothered about having an excellent speaker system, I just wanted something that could play 5.1 sound via a Sky HD box. Something simple with a DVD player, 5 speakers and the right connections is all I'm looking for.

The only difference I've found from the AV forums with the 60 and 600 model is the sound quality, which was why I was buying a separate home cinema system, are there any others?

I won't get better than this for £500, will I? Seems a decent deal to me.
