Can you get dead pixels on LCD TV's? Im guessing you can, as i think i have one on my new tv. Really faint in the corner and cant see when i sit in my normal watching position. Only notice it when up close.
Im guessing you have to have a certain amount before you can get a new tv tho?

John Lewis isn't always a viable option though.
I have been looking for a 37" LCD Samsung for some time and John Lewis had an exclusive deal with Samsung to market it. The result was that, with no possibility for price matching, they were massively overpriced.
John Lewis were offering it in November last year for £1,400.
At the turn of the year, Currys were allowed to market it as well - Currys are now marketing it for £899 in store and £799 on the Internet. John Lewis have brought their price down to £999.
So, without the possibility of price matching to £799 (as it is an internet deal) I will still save £200 from the John Lewis price by ordering online from Currys, which represent a saving of £600 for the same TV from only five weeks ago.

So go to JL and get them to price match the store price at Currys, and you'll be paying £100 more than you would at Currys.co.uk, but you will be getting an extra four years warranty.

i'm having some issues connecting my laptop to my tv lcd set(samsung le40s71bx). i kind of remember paul bacon posting a thread about it some time ago and maybe he has already sorted that out.
i connect both via vga cable, i get my laptop screen on the tv but the resolution isn't right.
well, i *think* my laptop's video card only has the 1024x768 resolution (at least is the only resolution i can choose on the laptop's display properties)
my questions:
1) shouldn't i see in control panel that i have 2 monitors connected (as opposed to the default monitor which is the only one that appears?)
2) can i say to the lcd tv set which resolution should it use to display the laptop's signal?
any help would be truly appreciated mates

My brother used a 12 inch powerbook and it doesnt display right in his Samsung tv either.
