Default The Bundesliga thread 07/08- durchmarch der Bayern oder ein neuer fiasko? ***wird ihn gebracht von Spoilers AG***

So here's how I think it'll go this year:

1.Bayern München- well what more can be said that's not already told? They made great signings in Toni, Klose and Ribery. Ze Roberto looks like it was good for him to spend a year home in Brazil and Hamit Altintop played really well too in the Ligapokal games. Also watch out for Sandro Wagner, who's a really talented player. The only thing that can go wrong for Bayern is if all the stars start to argue instead of playing football, but I really don't think that will happen with Hitzfeld as manager. It should be a clearly won championship for Bayern this season.

In:Hamit Altintop (Schalke 04), Julio Dos Santos (VfL Wolfsburg, war ausgeliehen), Marcell Jansen (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Franck Ribery (Olympique Marseille), Jan Schlaudraff (Alemannia Aachen), Jose Ernsto Sosa (Estudiantes de la Plata), Luca Toni (AC Florenz), Ze Roberto (FC Santos), Miroslav Klose (Werder Bremen), Thomas Kraft (Bayern München II)

Out:Claudio Pizarro (FC Chelsea), Bernd Dreher (Karriereende), Hasan Salihamdzic (Juventus Turin), Mehmet Scholl (Karriereende), Owen Hargreaves (Manchester United), Ali Karimi (Katar Sports Club), Roy Makaay (Feyernoord Rotterdam), Andreas Görlitz (ausgeliehen an Karlsruher SC), Roque Santa Cruz (Blackburn Rovers)

2.Werder Bremen- Werder had a really good season, but too bad for them they let it all go in the end. Klose will ofcourse be missed, but they still got a strong team. They managed to keep Diego (who should be more used to Bundesliga now, which could make him even better), Borowski and Frings which signals that the club is starting to be a established topteam. From new signings Carlos Alberto looks most interesting. I'm looking forward to what he and Diego can make upfront. Klose should be replaced by Sanogo and the fact that Rosenberg should be established in Germany now

In:Carlos Alberto (Corinthians Sao Paulo), Leon Andreasen (war ausgeliehen an FSV Mainz 05), Nico Pellatz (Hertha BSC), Kevin Artmann, Martin Harnik, Kevin Schindler (alle Werder Bremen II), Francis Banecki (war ausgeliehen an Eintracht Braunschweig), John Jairo Mosquera (war ausgeliehen an Wacker Burghausen), Boubacar Sanogo (Hamburger SV)

Out:Miroslav Klose (FC Bayern München), Andreas Reinke (Ziel unbekannt), Kasper Jensen (Carl Zeiss Jena), Sebastian Schachten (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Jerome Polenz (Alemannia Aachen)

3.Schalke 04- a bit weaker then last year. I can't really see the replacement for Lincoln. Plus IMO Jones isn't as good as Altintop. But still a strong team with the defence as their best

In:Heiko Westermann (Arminia Bielefeld), Jermaine Jones (Eintracht Frankfurt), Mathias Schober (Hansa Rostock), Ivan Rakitic (FC Basel), Benedikt Höwedes (eigene Jugend), Mathias Abel (war ausgeliehen an Hamburger SV), Mimoun Azaouagh (war ausgeliehen an FSV Mainz 05)

Out:Lincoln (Galatasaray Istanbul), Hamit Altintop (Bayern München), Tim Hoogland (FSV Mainz 05), Dennis Lamczyk (Hessen Kassel), Niko Bungert (Offenbacher Kickers, war ausgeliehen), Michael Delura (Panionios Athen)

4.HSV-Huub Stevens made a really amazing piece of work turning HSV from a team going straight for relegation to take them to UEFA-Cup. Zidan and Castelen looks like good new signings. A lot of players have left, but that's mostly reserves, so all around it looks like a much better season for HSV this year

In:Mohamed Zidan (Mainz 05), Miso Brecko (war an Erzgebirge Aue ausgeliehen), Mustafa Kucukovic (war an Spvgg Greuther Fürth ausgeliehen), Kosi Saka (Borussia Dortmund), Sebastian Langkamp (FC Bayern München II), Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (Hamburger SV II), Romeo Castelen (Feyenoord Rotterdam)

Out:Mathias Abel (Schalke 04, war ausgeliehen), Rene Klingbeil (unbekannt), Sascha Kirschstein (Spvgg Greuther Fürth), Daniel Ljuboja (VfB Stuttgart, war ausgeliehen), Stefan Wächter (Hansa Rostock), Mehdi Mahdavikia (Eintracht Frankfurt), Besart Berisha (FC Burnley/England), Benjamin Lauth (Hannover 96, war an VfB Stuttgart ausgeliehen), Oliver Hampel (Fortuna Düsseldorf), Boris Leschinski (SpVgg Unterhaching), Alexander Laas (VfL Wolfsburg), Boubacar Sanogo (Werder Bremen)

5.Stuttgart-the team, that suprised everyone including themselfs last season. But this season will be much more difficult. The club needs to get used to playing Champions League plus Timo Hildebrand will be missed. Rafael Schäfer is a good keeper, but not as good as Hildebrand

In:Gledson (Hansa Rostock), Silvio Meißner (1. FC Kaiserslautern, war ausgeliehen), Raphael Schäfer (1. FC Nürnberg), Yildiray Bastürk (Hertha BSC Berlin), Georges Mandjeck (Kadji Sport Douala), Johannes Rahn (TuS Koblenz), Christian Träsch (1860 München), Danijel Ljuboja (Hamburger SV, war ausgeliehen), Ewerthon (Real Saragossa, wird ausgeliehen), Ciprian Marica (Schachtjor Donezk)

Out:Jon Dahl Tomasson (FC Villarreal), Marco Streller (FC Basel), Markus Babbel (wird Co-Trainer beim VfB), Daniel Bierofka (1860 München), Dirk Heinen (Ziel fraglich), Heiko Gerber (FC Ingolstadt), Timo Hildebrand (FC Valencia), Benjamin Lauth (Hannover 96, war vom Hamburger SV ausgeliehen), Marco Caligiuri (Greuther Fürth), Elson (ein Jahr ausgeliehen an EC Goias/Brasilien), Bernd Nehrig (Greuther Fürth), Tobias Weis (1899 Hoffenheim), Mario Carevic (Lokeren, war an Hajduk Split ausgeliehen), Christian Gentner (VfL Wolfsburg/ausgeliehen)

6.Dortmund-the team is stronger then last year IMO. Federico and Klimowicz should help out with the goalscoring problem there was last year and Kovac should replace Metzelder without problem. In the end of last season it really looked like Thomas Doll is the right man for BVB, but I don't think that the comeback to the top will be made this season but a improvement should be there

In:Robert Kovac (Juventus Turin), Mladen Petric (FC Basel), Jakub Blaszczykowski (Wisla Krakau), Delron Buckley (war an FC Basel ausgeliehen), Giovanni Federico (Karlsruher SC), Marc Ziegler (1.FC Saarbrücken, war an Arminia Bielefeld ausgeliehen), Daniel Gordon (Borussia Dortmund II), Diego Klimowicz (VfL Wolfsburg)

Out:Bernd Meier (Karriereende), Christoph Metzelder (Real Madrid), Kosi Saka (Hamburger SV), Sören Pirson (Rot-Weiss Essen), Mathew Amoah (NAC Breda), Nuri Sahin (ausgeliehen an Feyenoord Rotterdam), Steven Pienaar (ausgeliehen an FC Everton)

7.Leverkusen-the defence will be their problem this season. Juan and Roque Junior has left and IMO Sinkiewicz and Friedrich doesn't have same class. gekas will be interesting to follow. He was great last season at Bochum, but how will he do in a bigger club with higher expectations?

In:Sascha Dum (Alemannia Aachen, war ausgeliehen), Theofanis Gekas (VfL Bochum), Hans Adu Sarpei (VfL Wolfsburg), Arturo Vidal (Colo Colo), Lukas Sinkiewicz (1.FC Köln), Manuel Friedrich (Mainz 05), Vratislav Gresko (1. FC Nürnberg), Ricardo Faty (AS Rom), Erik Domaschke (Bayer Leverkusen II), Atanas Kurdov (Lewski Sofia)

Out:Roque Junior, Athirson (beide Ziel unbekannt), Juan (AS Rom), Andrej Voronin (FC Liverpool), Fredrik Stenman (FC Groningen), Hans-Jörg Butt (Ziel unbekannt), Ahmed Madouni (unbekannt), Alexander Meyer (Duisburg), Marko Babic (wahrscheinlich Real Betis), Pierre de Wit (VfL Osnabrück)

8.Hannover 96-the players who left was mostly reserves and instead 96 has bought Lauth, Hanke and Pinto for the offense and Thomas Kleine for the defence. Kleine is a really strong defender and I expect much from him this year. It also looks like 96 in Dieter Hekking has found a manager, in who the board belives and that helps

In:Mike Hanke (VfL Wolfsburg), Thomas Kleine (Spvgg Greuther Fürth), Gaetan Krebs (Racing Straßburg, war an Sportfreunde Siegen ausgeliehen), Sergio Pinto (Alemannia Aachen), Benjamin Lauth (Hamburger SV, war an VfB Stuttgart ausgeliehen), Salvatore Zizzo (University of California in Los Angeles)

Out:Erik Jendrisek (1. FC Kaiserslautern), Timo Nagy (SpVgg Unterhaching), Ricardo Sousa (Omonia Nikosia), Christoffer Andersson (Helsingborg IF), Daniel Haas (Hoffenheim 1899, war bereits dorthin ausgeliehen), Johannes Dietwald (Ziel unbekannt)

9.Nürnberg- it won't be as great as last year. Both Charisteas and Jakobsen has been in Bundesliga before, without achieving star status. It'll also take some time to the defence to get used to the new keeper Jaromir Blazek. It'll be also 1st time in ages that the club plays European and that will cost in the Bundesliga IMO

10.Karlsruhe- I really belive in the team. Becker has made a amazing job since he took over. Federico is a loss for the club but in Iashvili they've signed a striker with Bundesliga experiance. Also Christian Timm has proven before that he can play at the best level in Germany. And the club has kept Edmond Kapllani so the offense looks fine. The defence is a bit weaker but with Buck and Görlitz they made two good signings

In:Alexander Iaschwili (SC Freiburg), Tamas Hajnal (1. FC Kaiserslautern), Christian Timm (SpVgg Greuther Fürth), Stefan Buck (SpVgg Unterhaching), Christopher Reinhard (Eintracht Frankfurt), Andreas Görlitz (für ein Jahr von Bayern München ausgeliehen.

Out:Jan Männer (SC Paderborn), Giovanni Federico (Borussia Dortmund), Jiri Kaufman (Erzgebirge Aue), Sascha Traut (TuS Koblenz), Marco Manske, Thomas Kies (beide unbekannt)

11.Wolfsburg- the season depends much on how much patience the board has. If they expect Magath to make miracles from the begining they'll get disappointed. VfL has changed almost the entire team during the summer and it'll take time before the players gets used to each other. But all in all, the team looks better then last season

In:Abuda (Germinal Antwerpen, war ausgeliehen), Ashkan Dejagah (Hertha BSC), Jonas Deumeland (eigene Jugend), Daniel Reiche (VfL Wolfsburg II), Sergiu Radu, Vlad Munteanu (beide Energie Cottbus), Daniel Baier (1860 München), Sascha Riether (SC Freiburg), Edin Dzeko (FK Teplice), Ricardo Costa (FC Porto), Christian Gentner (VfB Stuttgart, ausgeliehen), Alexander Laas (Hamburger SV), Marcel Schäfer (1860 München), Cheikh Niang, Mame Niang (Moroka Swallows)

Out:Tom van der Leegte (PSV Eindhoven), Andres D'Alessandro (Real Saragossa, war bereits dorthin ausgeliehen), Julio Dos Santos (Bayern, war ausgeliehen), Marian Hristov (unbekannt), Miroslav Karhan (FSV Mainz 05), Hans Sarpei (Bayer 04 Leverkusen), Diego Klimowicz (Borussia Dortmund), Mike Hanke (Hannover 96), Kevin Hofland (Feyenoord Rotterdam), Mathias Langkamp (Arminia Bielefeld, war ausgeliehen an Grasshopper Zürich), Steve Müller (VfB Lübeck)

12.Hertha- man, it doesn't look good. Last season was a major dissappointment and still they sell Basturk and Dejagah. I don't know how good Lucio is, but I doubt he can turn the whole thing around. And taking a manager without Bundesliga experiance is always a risk

In:Jaroslav Drobny (VfL Bochum), Pascal Bieler (war an Rot-Weiss Essen ausgeliehen), Solomon Okoronkwo (war an Rot-Weiss Essen ausgeliehen), Lukasz Piszczek (war an Zaglebie Lubin/Polen ausgeliehen), Lucio (Gremio Porto Alegre, ausgeliehen von Palmeiras Sao Paulo)

Out:Ellery Cairo (Coventry City), Ashkan Dejagah (VfL Wolfsburg), Andreas Neuendorf (FC Ingolstadt 04), Robert Müller (Carl Zeiss Jena), Yildiray Bastürk (VfB Stuttgart), Nico Pellatz (Werder Bremen), Kevin Stuhr Ellegaard (Randers FC/Dänemark), Dick van Burik (unbekannt/Vertrag aufgelöst), Christopher Schorch (Real Madrid)

13.Frankfurt- about same strenght as last year. Jones was in the end more a troublemaker then captain and Mahdavikia is a good signing. It'll be interesting to see how Inamoto will ddo in Bundesliga. A plus is also that there won't be any UEFa-Cup for Eintracht this year, so they shall only concentrate on the league

In:Junichi Inamoto (Galatasaray Istanbul), Kreso Ljubicic (eigene Jugend), Mehdi Mahdavikia (Hamburger SV), Aaron Galindo (Grasshopper Zürich)

Out:Benjamin Huggel (FC Basel), Jermaine Jones (Schalke 04), Christopher Reinhard (Karlsruher SC), Marko Rehmer (unbekannt), Daniyel Cimen (Kickers Offenbach, war zuletzt an Eintracht Braunschweig ausgeliehen)

14.Bielefeld- same strenght then last year, but it really looks like Mittendorp was the right man for the club. Mijatovic should replace Westermann and who knows if they haven't made a scoop in Kampantais?

In:Oliver Kirch (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Leonidas Kampantais (AEK Athen), Stefan Aigner (Wacker Burghausen), Rowen Fernandez, Siyabonga Nkosi (beide Kaizer Chiefs Johannesburg/Südafrika), Finn Holsing (war an Eintracht Braunschweig ausgeliehen), Robert Tesche, Daniel Riemer (Arminia Bielefeld II), André Mijatovic (Spvgg Greuther Fürth), Matthias Langkamp (VfL Wolfsburg, war an Grasshopper Zürich ausgeliehen)

Out:Heiko Westermann (FC Schalke 04), Fatmir Vata (TuS Koblenz), Kamil Vacek (war von Sigma Olmütz ausgeliehen), Marc Ziegler (Borussia Dortmund, war von 1.FC Saarbrücken ausgeliehen), Dennis Eilhoff (TuS Koblenz, Ausleihen um ein Jahr verlängert), Tim Danneberg (Eintracht Braunschweig, ein Jahr ausgeliehen), Pascal Formann (1. FC Saarbrücken)

15.Hansa Rostock- they're back after two years in 2.liga. And although the team lost Gledson and Schober I still think they're strong enough to stay up. Pearce will be a important player, but the most important will probably be that Beinlich keeps out of injuries

In:Orestes Junior Alves (Naval 1° de Maio, Portugal), Stefan Wächter (Hamburger SV), Ryan Gyaki (Sheffield United), Simon Tüting, Addy-Waku Menga (beide VfL Osnabrück), Fin Bartels (Holstein Kiel), Benjamin Lense (VfL Bochum), Heath Pearce (FC Nordsjaelland)

Out:Gledson (VfB Stuttgart), Mathias Schober (FC Schalke 04), Kevin Hansen (Erzgebirge Aue), Anton Müller, Kim Madsen (beide unbekannt), Dirk Jonelat (SV Babelsberg 03), Martin Pohl (Rot-Weiß Erfurt), Michael Hartmann (Hansa Rostock II)

16.Cottbus- no doubt that the team will fight for the existense with all they've got, but I don't think it'll be enough this year. Radu and Munteanu has moved to Wolfsburg and the suprise moment from last year is gone. Now the whole league knows how Cottbus play. The club has high expectations to Dennis Sørensen, but IMO he won't fit in the Bundesliga

In:Stanislaw Angelow (Lewski Sofia), Efstathios Aloneftis, Christian Bassila (beide AE Larisa/Griechenland), Ovidiu Burca (FC National Bukarest), Kristijan Ipsa (Varteks Varazdin/Kroatien), Michael Lerchl (Dynamo Dresden), Toni Wachsmuth (Carl Zeiss Jena), Martin Männel (Energie Cottbus II), Dennis Sörensen (FC Midtjylland), Dimitar Rangelow (Racing Straßburg, war an Erzgebierge Aue ausgeliehen)

Out:Kevin McKenna (1. FC Köln), Sergiu Radu, Vlad Munteanu (beide VfL Wolfsburg), Daniel Gunkel (FSV Mainz 05), Benjamin Schöckel (SV Wehen Wiesbaden), Marcus Hoffmann (Carl Zeiss Jena), Lars Jungnickel (Dynamo Dresden) Sidney (Offenbacher Kickers), Andre Thoms, Lawrence Aidoo, Christof Neumann (alle unbekannt)

17.Bochum-last year was great, but this time the elevator will go down once again. Gekas and Misimovic, the two best players are gone and the replacements are nowhere near their class. The only Ã*nteresting signing is Danny Fuchs. And if you want to replace the league's topscorer with Auer, who is a decent striker but nothing extraordinary and Mieciel, who had problems with getting on the team for Gladbach some year ago, I dpon't think you can expect staying up

In:Marc Pfertzel (AS Livorno), Rouven Schröder (VfB Lübeck), Stanislav Sestak (MSK Zilina/Slowakei), Danny Fuchs (Spvgg Greuther Fürth), Philipp Heerwagen (SpVgg Unterhaching), Mergim Mavraj (Darmstadt 98), Heinrich Schmidtgal (SC Verl), Matias Concha (Djurgardens IF/Schweden), Marc Sand (FC Kärnten), Jan Lastuvka (Schachtjor Donezk, war an FC Fulham ausgeliehen), Marcin Mieciel (PAOK Saloniki), Benjamin Auer (war an 1.FC Kaiserslautern ausgeliehen)

Out:Jaroslav Drobny (Hertha BSC Berlin), Zvjezdan Misimovic (1.FC Nürnberg), Theofanis Gekas (Bayer 04 Leverkusen), Heiko Butscher (SC Freiburg), Fabio Junior (Apoel Nikosia), David Pallas (unbekannt), Dariusz Wosz (Karriereende), Alexander Bade (SC Paderborn), Peter Skov-Jensen (unbekannt), Daniel Imhof (unbekannt), Joris van Hout (KVC Westerlo), Filip Trojan (FC St. Pauli), Thomas Rathgeber (ein weiteres Jahr an SpVgg Unterhaching ausgeliehen), Benjamin Lense (Hansa Rostock)

18.Duisburg- the team simply doesn't have the Bundesliga class. Many of the players was already at MSV two years ago, when they went down and the investment in Ailton is stupid. He ain't nowhere near his Bremen days and if it doesn't go good for him he becomes quickly a troublemaker

In:Ailton (Roter Stern Belgrad, war an Grasshopper Zürich ausgeliehen), Manasseh Ishiaku (FC Brügge), Fernando Santos (Flamengo Rio de Janeiro), Marcel Herzog (FC Schaffhausen), Maicon (Madureira EC), Sascha Mölders (MSV Duisburg II), Simon Terodde (eigene Jugend), Blagoy Georgiev (Roter Stern Belgrad), Alexander Meyer (Bayer 04 Leverkusen), Tom Starke (SC Paderborn), Christian Tiffert (Red Bull Salzburg), Michael Lamey (PSV Eindhoven)

Out:Alexander Bugera (1. FC Kaiserslautern), Carsten Wolters (MSV Duisburgh II), Kai Koitka (Eintracht Braunschweig), Georg Koch (Dinamo Zagreb), Quido Landzaat (ZSKA Sofia), Marco Caligiuri (Spvgg Greuther Fürth)

As good as ever Orzelek

Here's hoping VfB can upset the predictors again with a sustained campaign in all competitions.

No Hildebrand

Bastürk and Ewerthon are very pleasing signings and they should both feature quite heavily and managing to keep Gomez is even better.

Great opening post.

I have to disagree about Stuttgart though. Now that Werder have lost Klose and Frings (will be out for six months) they are the only team that can challenge Bayern.

On paper Bayern should dominate like Lyon in France but I’m not sure about their centre midfielders (Zé Roberto and van Bommel). They need a defensive midfielder IMO.

I think James is right in what he says really.

Bayern have done very well in the transfer market and, ominously, Altintop, Ribery, Toni and Klose have all started to show exactly why Bayern signed them in the first place.

HSV are the one team who have managed to keep hold of all their key players and have added to their squad rather than having to find replacements in key positions.

Really we all know that Schalke will be 30 points clear by the winter break but will still contrive to crash in a blaze of glory on the final day of the season.

It's the Schalke way.

Frings won't be out for a half year. That was the 1st diagnosis, but the scanning shown that the injury wasn't that bad at all and he's expected to be back in September

Bah, bah, bah, way too much HSV love here

C'mon Pauli!

Bayern can't do anything except become Meister, anything less will turn the whole season into shambles. Here's hoping to crumbling under pressure and may Mark van Bommel be a first team starter all season. I'm amazed but pleased at the same time that they still haven't found him out.
