Boateng docks at Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur FC have signed of Germany Under-21 midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng from Hertha BSC Berlin.

Award
The 20-year-old, who won the 2006 Fritz Walter Gold Medal as Germany's young player of the year, is reported to have agreed a contract until 2012 in a deal understood to be worth €6.7m. Boateng moved up the ranks from the Hertha academy to join the first team in 2005, the same year in which he scored a spectacular 40-metre goal against Greece in the UEFA European U19 Championship where Germany reached the semi-finals.

'Amazing'
"For me it is amazing to be in England," said Boateng, who joins fellow summer arrivals Gareth Bale, Adel Taarabt, Yuri Berchiche, Darren Bent and Younes Kaboul. "To be in London and playing for Spurs will be great for me. It has been my ambition to play in England, I am 20 now and am about to quickly realise my dream." Tottenham manager Martin Jol, whose team enter the UEFA Cup in the first round, added: "Kevin is a talented player who plays for the Under-21 side of his country. You could compare him with the likes of Aaron Lennon and Tom Huddlestone in that he is an exciting player for now and the future."

Bremen bolster defence with Toši�

Werder Bremen have reinforced their defensive ranks by signing highly regarded Serbian international Duško Toši� for an undisclosed fee from FC Sochaux-Montbéliard.

'International experience'
The 22-year-old, who can play at centre-half or right-back, has signed a four-year contract with the Bundesliga outfit just five days before Thomas Schaaf's team begin their campaign against VfL Bochum 1848. Toši� will have the No13 shirt at the Weserstadion and Bremen managing director Klaus Allofs is delighted with his acquisition, saying: "We are happy to have a fast, versatile and good tackler in our ranks who already has some international experience."

Final run
Those attributes have been apparent during Toši�'s one and a half seasons at Sochaux and were further showcased in the Netherlands this summer where Toši� played a starring role as Serbia reached the UEFA European Under-21 Championship final. Bremen will hope the former OFK Beograd player can enhance his growing reputation in the UEFA Champions League this season: they will meet either NK Domžale or NK Dinamo Zagreb in the third qualifying round.

Hapoel sign striker Fábio Júnior

Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC have signed former Brazilian international forward Fábio Júnior on a two-year contract from VfL Bochum 1848.

Free transfer
The Israeli UEFA Cup participants have recruited the 29-year-old on a free transfer from the Bundesliga club, where he scored three goals in 31 games during the last two seasons. Hapoel coach Guy Luzon said of his new signing: "He didn't get to play in the Bundesliga because of his nice eyes."

Polák persuaded to join Anderlecht

Belgian champions RSC Anderlecht have signed Czech international midfielder Jan Polák from 1. FC Nürnberg.

The 26-year-old has accepted a four-year contract with the Brussels club after arriving from Nürnberg for an undisclosed fee. Former Anderlecht striker Jan Koller and current goalkeeper Daniel ZÃ*tka both played their part in persuading their fellow countryman to come to Belgium. "Koller told me only positive things about Anderlecht, just like Zitka who promised to help me where necessary," said Polák, who has scored six goals in 30 games for the Czech Republic. "It is always nice when you know someone at a new club."

Primary objective
Polák had spent the last two seasons at Nürnberg, having joined from FC Slovan Liberec in 2005. He will now compete with Anderlecht in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, with the draw being held on Friday. "Anderlecht are the biggest team in Belgium and always play for the title," said Polák. Fresh blow for Hamburg's Fillinger

Hamburger SV will be without Mario Fillinger for the next six weeks after the midfielder damaged his foot in training.

Lengthy absence
The 22-year-old, who missed most of last season after suffering meniscus tear in his left knee in November, burst a blood vessel in his left foot in training and is not expected to return to action until the middle of September. Hamburg, for whom Fillinger appeared nine times in the Bundesliga last season, overcame FC Dacia Chisinau 5-1 on aggregate in the UEFA Intertoto Cup third round to win a place in Friday's UEFA Cup second qualifying round draw.

Delura to perform for Panionios

Former German youth international forward Michael Delura has left hometown club FC Schalke 04 to join Greek side Panionios NFC on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Three-year deal
The 22-year-old had been with Schalke since he was 14 and made his senior debut in 2003, playing in that season's UEFA Cup. He appeared infrequently before loans to Hannover 96 in 2005/06 and VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach last season, taking his Bundesliga appearance tally to 76.

Feeling at ease
"It's the first time that I will play abroad, but I already feel at ease in Athens and at Panionios," Delura said. "My aim is to adjust as soon as possible to my new life in order to give my best to the team. I want to help Panionios, perform well and score many goals." His new team, fifth in Greece last season, enter the UEFA Cup in September's first round.

Nkosi, who has fourteen caps for South Africa, looks forward to working with Arminia-headcoach Ernst Middendorp who he already knows from his time at Kaizer Chiefs.

Both clubs agreed to keep the fee undisclosed.

Bad news for Wolfsburg

New signing Ricardo Costa appears to have suffered a knee ligament injury during the DFB Cup match against Würzburger FV.

"It appears to be a ligament injury and he will be out for six months. He will be examined on Monday and we will then know more", said Wolfsburg`s new coach Felix Magath.

Costa injured himself after colliding with a player from the opposite side shortly before half time.
