Default Nintendo Wii

OK, so now that E3 is practically over and the fact that the new nintendo console has changed name called for a new thread.

Nintendo's next console:
Name: Nintendo Wii
Launch date: Q4 2006
Image: The Nintendo Wii and the "Wii-mote"
Prize: somewhere between 100$ and 299$
Prize for each game: No higher than 50$
Launch games:
The list of confirmed launch titles are as follows:

Call of Duty 3
Dragon Quest Swords
Excite Truck
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Rayman Raving Rabbids
Red Steel
Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam
Trauma Center: Second Opinion
Wii Sports

Games confirmed, but not necassarily confirmed for launch:

So very much has been revealed the last year about the Nintendo Wii. Here are some other things that has been said, but may be subject to change:

The Wii-mote will most likely recquire 2 AA batteries and will last signifigantly less than 100 hours. A rechargable battery may be sold seperatly though.

There will be no HDTV (High Definition TV) support for the Nintendo Wii.

An important feature apart from the new Wii-mote will be the Virtual Console. You will be able to download every game nintendo has relased in the past to your Nintendo Wii. Details around this is yet to be announced.

The system will have a free online service (wi-fi). And even though you have turned the console off, it will stay connected to the net. What this will mean, is still not revealed. It has also been confirmed that the Friend Code system from the Nintendo DS will be used on the Wii. But if it is implented the same way as on the DS or in another way is yet to be announced.

Before Wii got it's name, it was called revolution, this was because of the revolutionairy aspect it is supposed to have on gaming when it is released. The controller has the shape of a remote, and Wii will have detectors that will detect movement of the controller, something which means that moving the controller with your hand will have direct impact on what goes on in the game. This impact of course differs from game to game.

the controller will also have a port for different plug ins. For example the Nunchuk which features the classic analouge stick and two additional buttons. Or the classic gamepad.
