god, so typical of nintendo europe to put a downer on things.
£180 + extra controller + games + launching so close to christmas takes it right out of my price range. after they spent so long saying how cheap it was gonna be, it's... annoying.

UK, September 15, 2006 - Wii games will not be region-free according to Nintendo UK's General Manager David Yarnton. Speaking exclusively with IGN at Nintendo's European Wii press event in London, Yarnton confirmed that Wii games and online content will be region-encoded, meaning European gamers won't be able to play titles from the US and Japan and vice-versa.

I didn't know that until just now. Sorely tempted to get a US machine anyway, unless there's some going online based reasons why that might be a bad idea.
NoE do their best to ruin this company's wares for me every single time.
