Yeah lets neglect the fact that this peripheral is/has/will change gaming as you and me see it?...and the fact that when you actually see a video with people playing with the controller they're laughing their arses off...rather then looking all concentrated/constipated.

You can't put a price on entertainment...

change gaming

calm down son. I think the Wii looks brilliant and I have wholeheartedily supported in threads.

But if it's $250, it's overpriced IF its just the console and a pad that comes with it, it'll need to have 2 pads and Wii sports bundled to support this 'new generation' thing they are pushing.

Will it be a total success at launch? Of course, but it's longetivity is a question.

As for the eyetoy explaination, the Wii is basically a souped up version of it. With the eyetoy you played games by moving your arms about in front a camera and while it was fun for 10 minutes, it quickly got boring.

Obviously the Wii will be fun for longer than that but it will get boring a lot faster than the 360 or PS3 will.

well done on confusing the controller with the entire console then.

not like the eyetoy and the wii controller are a like at all. the wii controller more like a 3d d-pad than in anyway the eyetoy.

also all the eyetoy games were pretty much rubbish, where as from what i've seen so far the wii games look just as great and innovative and fun as nintendo has always been.

the controller is the only thing that seperates the console from the gamecube ffs, it's all the same technology with a funky new peripherial/control method.

I'm not denying it looks like it'll be awesome, I'm questioning its longetivity and the rumoured pricetag.

Ahh...the Wii controller has already changed gaming...and it hasn't even been released.

Lets me put it this way...when Nintendo announced their controller at TGS last year. Sony took notice and added a version of their own...at the expense of rumble/vibration too btw... Now I don't know about you but I seriously doubt Sony had any intention what-so ever to have it in their PS3 pad. It stinks of "Me too".

But anyways...

The fact that Sony even took this on means that gaming has/will/is changed, since it will be used in PS3 games...it would be a different story if only Nintendo opted for motion-control.

And I doubt the next-generation after the Wii/360/PS3 will be motion-control-less...if anything it will move to the next level of motion-control.

way to be uneducated and miss the point

Microsoft had the first motion sensing controller and it never took off. Sony tried motion sensor with the eyetoy and it didn't take off. Nintendo's version is more advanced but history has shown that the novelty wears off, will it for Nintendo? Maybe and maybe not.

I'm 99% certain they'll make a Wii 2 within 3 years though.

And even if it does take off, $250 is still overpriced for old technology packaged with a glorified tech demo.
