The Ramos incident aside, I always thought he was a class act. Would Flamengo be glory hunting? No idea what their prestige is in Brazil.

I'm tempted to follow one of several sides, I just need to find one I have an extremely tiny tie to so I can support them

Does anyone knoe if Diego is doing anything about his passport situaton? The latest seems to be Spurs have had an offer in the region of £9m accepted but can't get Diego a work permit as he hasn't played enough internationals and FIFA won't give him special dispensation as being a particularly outstanding talent (the wankers) and so he was looking into gettin a dual passport for Italy IIRC. If he doesn't by the end of January its thought we'd try again in the summer but IMO Inter and the likes will have stepped up their interest in him by then and we will miss out.

So Mario, PMLF, and any other Brazilian users, do you have any info for me?

According to my 442 magazine, Flamengo is the blue collar club while Fluminense is the white collar club.

Flamengo is the most popular team in Brazil and the one that won more league titles. But our situation is now pretty similar to Internazionale's situation in Italy as our last national league tile was in 1992.

After 1992 we only won some state leagues (1996, 1999, 2000 and 2001), a Brazilian Champions Cup in 2001 (discontinued tournament) and a South American Copa Mercosur in 1999 (discontinued tournament).

And these are my front runners clubwise:

Flamengo - Romario used to play for them, and I liked him

Santos - Ive learnt more about them since Spurs have been interested in Diego, and watched games of theirs on the tele, Robinho is exciting and of course Pele once wore the illustrious number 10 shirt there

Vasco - Edmundo the animal played there, not a fan.

Sao Paulo - I like Luis Fabiano, think he is underrated in Europe and deserves a big move. The likes of Leonardo among others Ive liked have played here

Gremio - Ronaldinho's old stomping ground,

Corinthians - Used to be a big fan of Marcelino Cariocha (sp) on CM3

I never heard of those expressions.

But Flamengo is seen as the team of the poor people while Fluminense is the team of the elite people. Are these the meaning of those expressions?

I think he is trying to get the passport, although the media does not say much about that.

Marcelinho Carioca is his "foorball name". Carioca is the word used for who was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro (Like Londonian for London people).

Marcelinho Carioca is very good at free kicks.

As for São Paulo, you may remember or may have read somewhere about the 1992/93 Intercontinental Cup titles beating Barcelona in 1992 and Milan in 1993.
