Series One had the better Doctor. Eccleston was superb and I wish he'd done more than one series, not saying I don't like Tennat, I just preferred Eccleston's portrayal.
Have just been watching his stories on DVD and except for episode 7, The Long Game, they are all incredibly entertaining. Obviously The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances is the highlight (of the entire new set of stories as well), but the best hairs standing up on the back of your neck moments come at the end of Bad Wolf when the Doctor tells Rose he's coming to get her and in Parting of the Ways with the hologram speech. Gripping stuff.
Series 2 got a bit too lovey dovey at times and I was glad to see the back of Rose by the time she went. New Earth and the first Cyberman two parter were boring and Fear Her was utter crud. Tooth & Claw & School Reunion were the two standout episodes for me. School Reunion is the only show in the new run that has had me crying when K-9 bought it and the Doctor said goodbye to Sarah Jane.
Series 3 started well for the first five episodes, but the four that followed weren't that entertaining. Blink by far the best of the past few weeks lot. Don't really care about the Mr Saxon stuff tbh and I will do my nut if the Daleks are in the series finale...again.
Tennant is a good Doctor and Martha is a far more likeable charcter at the moment than Rose...plus Freema is gorgeous.
Series 2 and series 3 have both had four dull epsiodes each so far so they are tying whereas series one only had one dull episode.
