Yes, there are loads of threads on movies here, but I thought it would be good to have a consistent film thread so people could discuss what they've recently seen etc without having to go through "what is the best film you've ever seen" "name your five favourite actors" etc. Sort of like the literacy thread here, which I think is a great one.
Now maybe there is one already I don't know about, if so you could kindly guide me to it, but yeah, academy awards coming up, bound to be more film threads, how about have a thread like this to just discuss films in general?

Two movies with "pretty" by actors being serious.
Have to admit, Di Caprio, despite my wife getting wet whenever he appears in Titanic, is actually bloody good in Blood Diamond, and even though the trailers make it look as if it's very much an action movie, it is much deeper and really makes you think at times.
