I`ve just started watching films again after a 5yr break (kids ) is there anything in the last 5 yrs which i really should have seen ?
Prior to my break I was watching about 6 films a week, perhaps more depending on what was on TV, so I`ve seen a lot of films
In the last two days I`ve watched Troy (for my sins), Laputa - Castle in the sky (brilliant, watched it with my oldest son(4yr old)) and tonight I`ve watched Last Samurai, which was better than I was expecting and I`m watching enemy at the gates for the 100th time, I always find the brief sex scene as highly erotic, even though you only get to see and bit of her ass, man I love Rachel Weisz.
I hope to see Hot Fuzz soon (big spaced fan) and I`ll look at getting hold of any films OTF see fit. I`m into all sorts really, although I watch more war films than anything else.

He's the film editor for the LoveFilm website now. They left to live in Canada a few years back.
And 5 years mate? Yeah, there's a few you should check out. As you now know, Troy is not one of them.

Just give me a start then. As I said I used to watch a lot. I don`t go to the cinema much, but have a pretty good home set-up so I`ll be renting, so it has to be films out of DVD.
In the last 5 years all I`ve watched is Shrek, Shrek 2, Monsters inc and Finding Nemo (well not exactly) I would hazard a guess that I have still watched one film a week since the kids came along, but most have been on TV (film 4 mostly) so nothing in the last 5yrs really.

haha, the only ones of those i've heard of are three burials, red road and tzameti.
is three burials that good then? something about it put me off, not sure what. but the same happened with the proposition (the film written by nick cave) which i expected to be a typical 'someone good in another art form being vain and thinking they can do movies' movie, but which was really really excellent, one of the best i've seen recently.
on that note, i just watched team america - world police for the first time, and it's ok. I didn't laugh enough though.

| I`ve seen Red road, but none of the others. I really fancy the proposition, but thats more to do with a love of all things Nick Cave, but I`ve heard good things.
I`ve not read enough recently to know much about any of the films you have mentioned McD, but I`ll see what I can find out about them. Cheers for the list.
