| Babel doesn't preach anything to you. If you watched it in the cinemas and you felt you were being preached at, how in particular?

I thought I was being preached at. Might as well have just used a megaphone and shouted "WE SHOULD ALL LEARN TO GET ALONG AND LISTEN TO EACH OTHER" at me.
It's the entire film's premise, surely? How is it not preaching at me?

I didn't think it was that bad btw. I do feel that the general shift in attitude from "it's a work of genius" to "it's a film that is too wrapped up in itself and it's message to be truly great", by reviewers, is perfectly valid though.

Both Babel and Blood Diamond were preachy.
The difference is Babel was a better movie.

| So you're saying every single scene, every single line that drove each individual plot along, that every piece of dialogue, all it was trying to do was to preach to you the audience "WE SHOULD ALL LEARN TO GET ALONG AND LISTEN TO EACH OTHER"
So you yourself felt one of the key points of the entire film and each storyline that made the film was "We should all learn to get along?"

You've got two different points there.
1. Did I think every single scene did it? No, but I do feel the entire film was based on the point, and rarely did a significant amount of time go buy without us being reminded of it.
As to the second point, I believe that one of the main points of the film is that if people communicated better, than lots of problems would go away. And yes, I do think it was that simple.
