Watched Miami Vice and Children of Men on Sunday...

MV - 5/10 - Average, average, average.

CoM - 8/10 - Excellent film and I even liked Michael Caine in it.

Pretty sure this won't take off for the reasons people have already mentioned but fwiw this is what I posted in my poorly recieved Bobby thread last night just to see if it gets a better response here:

Just got in from this and I'm stunned. Absolutely fantastic film and I was very suprised by this. I thought it was very well acted and shot and really moving and powerful despite it's obvious overcasted ensemble flaws. As an attempt to snapshot the social climate at the time it did a great job and despite what was almost certainly an over canonisation of RFK I really did leave with a sense of 'what if' from the whole thing.

Anyway, your opinions please? Over emotional over simplified lovey dovey rubbish or great?

bobby was pretty crap imo

some woefully embarassing writing in places too, larry fishburne stuck with two awful motivational monologues. was funny for all the wrong reasons

just a recomendation to people who may not have heard of it but Brazil by Terry Gilliam is a top film.

Its an Orwellian story about a bureaucrat who notices a mistake in the system and tries to fix it but ends up with a woman.

recommended to anyone really.
