For me more media interaction is a plus but can see how some purists just want to get on the the game.

Are tactics and training still separate? Never understood why. It's almost like training is a week long running about, passing and shooting exercise while tactics are a 2 minute before the game job.

Hopefully the 2D is far better this time and you are able to use it to see why your tactics aren't working. Ended up getting more enjoyment with the 2D switched off but it's pretty much the equivalent of managing whilst listening to the game on the radio. Just turned into a "move some sliders about and hope it works" simulator, although it felt like that at times with the 2D on.

Never really had any problems with the defensive line.

Mike's right though. the 2d engine needs massive improvement. As it stands it simply doesn't give you enough information about rectifying problems, and when it does some of the sliders are so ambiguous it's guesswork.

I liked the tactical screen where you could place your players where you wanted them for each square on the pitch

My worry is that so far I haven't heard anything about major improvements to the match engine or transfer system so I'm really really hoping SI aren't happy with those so have concentrated on other features (pitch sizes, captains, club supporter groups etc.).
